Okay, I will. Robert Gates was up to his eyeballs in slime with Iran Contra. You all remember that. The scandal we failed to prosecute against the then sitting president, one (now sainted) Ronald Reagan. You know. The one involving what were clearly high and low crimes and misdemeanors and felonies. Ollie North. Drug money. Arms to Iran.

Remind the country who these people are. How there's straight line continuity. How, whenever they regain power, they do the same shit over and over and over and over.

Ideally, the hearings would **disconnect** them from the Neocons. The neocons will have been fully discredited by the 08 cycle. We need to show that even 'mainstream' Republics are as criminal, as nasty, as disrespectful of our country as the Neocons ever thought about being.

Veddy Interesting! As someone who got to spend a looong eight months out in the Indian Ocean during that period, I am very interested. Diego Garcia was beautiful before they developed it though (just like everywhere else I guess). I will be real interested in these hearings, they had better ask him some hard questions!
