that means he can no longer embarass the Democrats by being the one Democrat that Bush can point to and say "he gets it."
He's been "purged," (according to some people) remember. The Dem party rejected him and he's caucusing with us, not out of party loyalty, but out of his interest in protecting his seniority.
The Repubs will try to get him to switch, they will fail and they will become angry at him. Then he won't be their buddy anymore
