Is Bush turning...?
First words of conciliation on Wednesday...then lunch with "soon to be" Speaker Pelosi...then inviting Reid for a talk.

Is Bush starting to listen to the people? Is he serious about being a "uniter" for the next 2 years? Is he stopping his "dividing"
ways? Will he really seek bi-partisan solutions for Iraq and the ills at home? Has he turned the corner?

or...is he still just playing politics? Is it a political hoax to tie up congress for 2 years and set up 2008 for the Repubs?

WE need to be VERY cautious here....

4. He's worried and trying to give good face
It's politics. He can't be an ass like he wants because it would prove that we were right about him and he'll be held accountable by the party in 2008. They plan on trying to make it appear that he's reaching out to the Democrats, and when the time is right they want it to look as if we are the ones who weren't willing to extend the olive branch.

10. Don't forget, he sat frozen, emotionless when told we were under attack on 9/11
Any sane president would have jumped up and started acting like the Commander in Chief. Not Bush, so I suspect his "touchy-feely" conversion is more an act.

at the same day that he was meeting with Pelosi, he also met with the lame ducks to figure out how much of his radical agenda they could shove through in the remaining few weeks. Asshole.

16. My fear is the Repugs will be obstructionists...
...for the next 2 years. They may not have a majority...but while Bush is in office they can make it very difficult for the Dems to get anything done.

I would like to see more Dems talking about hoping that the Repubs don't obstruct progress.
