Let's prove Carville wrong - He's wrong about Dr. Dean
Edited on Fri Nov-10-06 03:08 PM by bunny planet
Make a donation to the DNC in the symbolic amount of $20.06 and make sure to get the message across that we are saying thank you to Dr. Dean for his leadership and efforts in helping us win this election. I say bullshit Mr. Ragin'Cajun. Dr. Dean's 50 State Strategy was a rousing success. Deal with it. Don't dare replace Dr. Dean as DNC chairman. I have never felt so proud and energized about my party and that is in large part to Dr. Dean's hard work and vision.

26. I'm donating my Election Officer pay of $142.00 in amounts of $20.06
I'm proud to have helped run a good election, performed a civic service, and using the proceeds to support the DNC and the 50-state strategy.

We didn't get our candidate, Harold Ford, Jr., elected here but we kept a lot of GOP money and support tied up here so that it couldn't be used elsewhere. If we don't run good candidates everywhere and support all state organizations, then the GOP can gang up on us in the few places we target.

We're building the party! Yeay!

Would you add... "wrong about Dr. Dean" to your subject line?
It would add more information to those not aware that James Carville was dissing Dr. Dean. Thanks!

6. Done! And here's my response from Dr. Dean!
Dear ________,

Thank you for your $20.06 contribution to the Democratic Party. Each year, tens of thousands of people from across the country make the decision to support the Party and Democratic candidates. Today you stood up and added not only to the Party's available resources, but to the larger sense of community and civic responsibility that we as Democrats stand for.

Building on that, you should take a minute to explore PartyBuilder -- a suite of tools that allows you to take control of the future of the Democratic Party not just by contributing, but by participating. The Democratic Party belongs to you, and while your contribution is critically important and absolutely necessary to build and maintain the Democratic infrastructure, you have the right to stand up and take control of the Party in ways that go beyond funding.

Take a minute to explore PartyBuilder. Signing up takes less than a minute.

http://www.democrats.org/partybuilder

PartyBuilder isn't the typical online tool set. Individual users control most of the activity – from blogging, to setting up and managing groups or activists, to organizing and managing real-world events, and, yes, to fundraising, Democrats are entrusted to build both the space and the Party.

Thank you again for standing up and taking control of the future of the Party. Your contribution is sincerely appreciated.

--Gov. Howard Dean

Chairman
Democratic National Committee

We Democrats must be united. We can disagree on many issues, but we must fully recognize that only be putting forth a lot of ideas can we come to a consensus where the best of those ideas can prevail.

We've seen 12 years of ideological purity, the last six years of which were toally monolithic. If there's one thing we have learned from this, it's the only possible product of such ideological-based politics is utter wreckage.

We need liberals. We need moderates. We even need conservatives.
We need people to talk to each other.

That's what makes for good governance.
That is why we will prevail.

9. sorry to ask a dumb question but
when/where did Carville call for replacing Dean? Wouldn't that be kind of unprecedented? I thought that if a party chair had a successful election year, the person stayed on, unless we elected a new President, in which case the President would decide (but generally kept the person as a reward).

14. Is anyone actually going to listen to Carville?
With the sweeping success of Dean's 50 State Plan. I certainly hope not.

Carville just sees that there's power back in the Dem party and is jockeying for his slice. His call to replace Dean is not to be taken seriously.

16. Too bad for Carville
It's not up to him who is chairman of the DNC. And after that stunning performance in the 2006 general election, I'd say Dr. Dean holds the job for as long as he wants it. Carville looks like he's just trolling for more consulting business, and the folks who want to pay to listen to him are welcome to do that.

But the simple, brilliant and elegant strategy of contesting as many races as possible brought the Democrats back into a majority. Yes, some candidates lost races that maybe they should have won. But I'd say that's more on them than on the support or non-support of the national party. A helluva lot more candidates won who would not have had a prayer two years ago under the Terry McAuliffe "targeted races" strategy.

Tom DeLay's seat, to take just one example, was invincible and unassailable. Until the unthinkable happened, and his naked corruption got to be too much even for some in his own party. When he was forced to resign his seat after the Texas primary, the Democrats were ready with a candidate, who had warmed up with his own primary victory. Under Terry McAuliffe, there wouldn't have been a Democratic candidate coming out of the Texas primary to benefit from DeLay's fall, and the Republicans in Texas would have just picked another cookie-cutter clone from their stable of swine who would have graduated to DeLay's seat, and we would have been cursing the luck that denied us a chance for a pick-up.

...what purpose would he serve to make his observations by calling NYT unsolicited?

Proving Carville wrong: Well, he obviously has trouble making sound choices (Matlin). Nuf said.

28. Who Says The Dems Have No Plan
This is what America was looking for.

Dems fighting James Carville.

This is what America spoke up for.

If we can spend the next two years just beating up on Carville and Emmanual and whouever else doesn't kiss our ring.

America will vote for us in droves.

Of course they will ignore the fact that America is still a mess and thousands still dying in Iraq.

Those Dems sure got my message. They got rid of James Carville.

Send your 20 dollars to a family in Iraq and ask how they feel that your mandate is to oust James Carville/
