The campaign is OVER -- now show your mettle DUers.
You know one of the biggest gripes I have, beyond any specific policy, with the now deceased Republican regime?

That it was nothing but one big ongoing political campaign. EVERYTHING they did was either showboating for Fox News or stealing money for reelections (and a few hookers.)

They never actually got down to running the country.

Don't be like that. The pundits on TV do not matter for a year. Take advantage of this reprieve in their relavence, and work with your new congress and senate to get some good governing done instead.

Get used to talking about legislation you would like to see. In detail, and seriously. The blogosphere needs to open a dialogue with our very-willing, very-responsive representatives and talk some serious turkey -- some nitty gritty -- on what laws should be passed and what they need to say to get passed, stay on the books, and accomplish important objectives.

We need more than symbolic bills designed to coax a shameful veto out of Bush. We need more than just investigations to dismantle the graft machine. We need real laws that stop the victimization of the middle class, the poor, and of the rest of the world. We have an economy to attempt to save from really bad fundamentals. We have to build a labor-strong economy back up from the ground the last one was razed on. Your ability to feed yourself and your family in the decades to come depends on it.

So stop shouting at numbnuts on your TV. In fact, turn the TV off. Visit the websites of congressional representatives instead. Look at what they have on their agenda. Suggest additions and improvements. You might be surprised to find that there is more praising and supporting to be doing than complaining, if you focus on the right people.

1. I promise to ignore ALL talking heads and pundits (except KO,
of course) for the next year or so.

Not hard - I don't watch much TV. But I also am not going to get involved in any threads about them.

Anybody else on board with me here???
