Dean: Vote shows Americans want new course in Iraq
The overwhelming election victories for Democrats shows the strong desire of citizens for a different course in Iraq and the war on terror, the Democratic National Committee chairman said Saturday, as Americans celebrated Veterans Day.

"Today our nation honors the sacrifices of our veterans who have honorably served and protected our nation," said Howard Dean in the Democrats' weekly radio address.

"We also honor the sacrifices of their families and our brave troops who are serving around the world, including those in Iraq and Afghanistan."

"Voters also made it clear that they want defense policies that are tough and smart. ... We will listen to the military, take their advice, and ensure that our troops and agencies have the tools and equipment they need to defend our freedom," he said.

4. I hope so
I hope that he, and the rest of the Democratic Party hold true to these committments to the troops abroad and the ongoing mission. I am nervous that so many nuts like Khadafy, and this week's spokesperson for Al Quaeda say that they are "pleased" with the outcome of the elections. I hope that the Democrats will not fulfill the prophecy that so many Republicans stated that they are soft on terror, and will not have the moxie to defend the country. Let's make wise choices. Let's do what is right in Iraq and Afghanistan....our legacy and our legitimacy are on the line.
