jump on it. I don't have the time, energy, knowledge or resources but I think it could be great.

The Annotated News Digest

I would like to see a site that took real news articles as they appear that would imbed hyperlinks within the text to either verify or refute whatever is being said by either the reporter or the subject of the article.

For instance, say one of the articles posted was one of the recent ones where * denied ever being about "stay the course". In my vision, those words hyperlink to a backpage where the many many instances of him saying it are documented.

I also would like all the authors of the articles to be hyperlinked with their backgrounds. One of my big complaints is that sometimes I will see a guest editorial or op-ed someplace and it will just identify the writer as "founder of the Enterprise Tribbles Institute" and not let you know what the "Enterprise Tribbles Institute" is all about or that the writer is a former speechwriter for the Klingons and that their wife is employed by the Torture Now! lobbying group. So, the average Joe is not aware that the op-ed is a totally self-serving piece of tripe that omits 99 out of a hundred salient facts.

I know some of you might say - This is what Media Matters does, and that's true, this idea is along the lines of Media Matters, but I think the formatting is a little different. Plus, I would really like the full, original articles to be posted if that would be possible - I know there could be copyright issues there.

I know that I am always re-inventing the wheel. Maybe there is even already a site like this and I just don't know it.
