3. 6.5% no?
That seems a bit low, considering how many Republicans and right-wingers are still here. But if this poll is genuine (not only Democrats voted), then I guess America wants to see Duh-bya be held accountable for his actions.

4. I can't take part in this poll
Bush deserves to be impeached, but it might be best for the country to have him stay in place the next two years to put a Republican face on all the disasters coming home to roost. Before Bush is impeached, I'm certain a moderate Republican will be scraped up from somewhere to take his place rather than Cheney. The last thing we want to face in 2008 is a sitting president who claims to represent the "real" Republican party claiming that he is at the center and the Democratic candidate is a way out leftie.

9. It is our catch 22
I agree, leave the bastard to the very last day. Maybe there can be some justice done on his ass after he leaves the office he has so completely soiled.

10. Incumbancy is a pretty strong advantage
It would be pretty slick for them to get that back and have someone very popular in there.

15. I want to hang the hearings over his head but I would love to see that SOB impeached too.
We need to get the subpoenas going ASAP and see what we can stir up on these assholes. I'm talking 'bout thousands of subpoenas, a regular dragnet. All the while stay focused on populist domestic policies to ensure a happy populace in 2008 so we can fuck them even harder after we have the executive branch. pardon my french.

6. Even a nationwide scientific poll would show 60/40 in favor.
That's my best guess. At the minimum, 55/45.

I think people believe (finally) that we had no business invading Iraq and the Bush lied to get us into it. And I don't the old saw the repukes trot out (all the intel SAID he had WMDs... a large majority of Dems voted for it too)... I don't think the people care about that. Bush was in charge and Bush made this his war and that's all they need to know.

13.  Not true. Americans don't seem to favor impeachment.
Impeachment was on the ballot in two cities in Wisconsin and was defeated in both (Wisconsin is blue, by the way).

14. How was it phrased?
Edited on Mon Nov-13-06 04:27 AM by lapfog_1
I'm of the firm opinion that if you asked all of the voters in the last election the following:

Should George W. Bush and Richard Cheney, and their administration, be investigated about how we entered the Iraq war, and on other topics such as influence of the energy industry in formulating US policy on energy, on the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, and on other topics that might arise in the course of these investigations?

And, depending on the results of such investigations, if it could be proven with a preponderance of the evidence that members of this Administration committed illegal acts, should Articles of Impeachment be drawn against said individuals?

I think we would get a 60 percent favorable.

16. Out of 377,226 votes, 328,186 people say "hell yes, impeach him".
We need to impeach Cheney too though. Can you say President Pelosi? I can.

19. It could happen. Bush is a lame chimp and a sitting chimp
Nancy's "no impeachment" statement will be off the table once investigations bear out OUTRAGEOUS Bush crimes.
