McNerney (CA-11) lost to Pombo in 2004 by 20 points. Donnelly (IN - 2) lost to Chocola in 2004 by a narrow margin. Hill (IN-9) defeated Sodrel in 2002, lost to him narrowly in 2004 and won it back this year. Murphy (PA-6) lost to Gerlach by a narrow margin in 2004.
Also, Nick Lampson previously served in COngress, but was defeate in 2004 running in a different district than he ran in this time.
