Poll question: Chicago Trib vs. DU: Who's right?
Edited on Sat Nov-11-06 09:31 PM by Jim Sagle
By a vote of 166-8, DU says Dean RRRRRAWWWWWXXXXX and Rahm SSSSSUXXXXXXXX!!!!!

The Trib says Rahm RRRRRAWWWWWXXXXX. And it doesn't even mention Dean.
Who's right? :shrug:

1. Dean Rocks, Rahm doesn't suck
Rahm's an asshole, but that's his job. His job was also to maximize Dem gains now. Deans was to build longterm. It was inevitable that there would be a clash. But they both contributed to our win, and let's not forget that.

4. But in the media, Dean is getting NO credit.
And that's BS.

5. no argument
but not unexpected. The media hate Dean beyond the hate they bear for most Democrats.

3. I like Rahm and Dean.
Odd, I know. They both rock, and as intelligent men who are leaders, they're bound to disagree. I didn't like Rahm E's public airing of the internal laundry however. That was unprofessional and uncalled for.

6. Listen? Hear That Whistle?
That's the sound of all of the air getting sucked out of the room. Rahm is DLCer, and that's what they do.

The DLC Rethugs immediately set to work sucking all of the air out of the room - they are out to destroy Dean and regain their throne. Clinton may be, as Bob Kerrey said, an exceptional liar - but that buffoon Carville is utterly transparent.

<sarcasm on>

I, for one, can't wait until the DLC is back in the saddle. Gee, we won how many elections when they were in charge, from 1992-2004? Mus have been... oh lesee... NONE. Nada. Zip.

<sarcasm off>

9. The Trib is Republican but quite slick about it.
Edited on Sat Nov-11-06 10:00 PM by Jim Sagle
Many folks see them as non-partisan. (They are, of course, wrong.) It's more corporate than anything else; in fact the Trib endorsed many Dems in 2006. So this fantasy makeover by the Trib will have some real and negative impact.

10. I have not seen Dean mentioned in the MSM since the election.
Only once when Chris Matthews asked a Clinton advisor, Lisa Caputo, if she gave credit to Dean for winning back so many statehouses and governorships. She said, she gave Rahm credit because he's her friend.

She used to work in the WH with Hillary and she did not know that winning those seats was the job of the DNC, the DGA and DLCC. Rahm does not do governors and state seats...

12. Dean has a thankless job
and he has handled this bullshit from Carville and a few others the right way. He has mostly ignored it.

But I think he knows he has a lot of support from the people, which is what really matters. I personally have never been more impressed with him than now. And he came off really great in the media on election night. A great contrast to Mehlmen.

Carville and others in the media refusing to give him credit can suck on it. The fifty state strategy really IS building the party. I'll admit I was skeptical, but the gains in state legislators clearly proves it.

11. Agree with those who said that ** BOTH ** Emanuel and Dean ROCK !!
I've been working a ton of OT and haven't been able to drop in much... but during the short times I've popped in for a second, I've been shocked to see so many negative Rahm posts on here!

Then again.. the one dude who was REALLY bashing Rahm last night was a Freepnoid who THANKS to our wonderful Moderator on-duty had his ass kicked into next week!

In any event ~~ I think that both of our guys absolutely ROCK!! Anyone DU'ers who would actually be spending time bitching about ANYONE who helped to orchestrate this last election needs their head examined.

Our crew ROCKS ----- Rahm, Howard, ALL OF THEM !!!
