If Capitol Hill staffers elected the President
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 02:36 AM by Bicoastal
http://www.washingtonian.com/articles/mediapolitics/1666.htm

In September 2006, Washingtonian.com polled capitol hill staffers on members of the house and senate from both parties, ranking them in a variety of categories. Some of the choices won't surprise anybody (Russ Feingold won "Most Ethical") and some are pretty damn surprising (Some unknown rep from Florida named Mark Foley came in 2nd for "Best Dressed" and <ahem> "Funniest" NOT KIDDING!!) But who was the big standout?

Barak Obama won 2nd place for Most Eloquent. Only Robert Byrd, the oldest man in the Senate, could top the youngest.

Barak Obama won 2nd place for Hunkiest, 2nd place for Best Dressed.

Barak Obama won first place for "Rising Star" with nearly half the votes tallied! (Notice the "Falling Star" people: Frist, Santorum, and Kerry)

AND--

Barak Obama won 2nd place for "Senator I'd Like to See elected President in '08"--beating out Hillary AND McCain. Who was #1? George "just got the macaca beat out of him" Allen.

This may mean nothing at all. But it IS interesting.

4. My favorite poll

a while back asked participants to pick the "Ultimate Hottest Senator, not counting Obama" - Obama was a shoo-in to win, they had to take him out of the running to give someone else a chance.

That cracked me up.

However, perhaps Obama shouldn't get the big head, just yet. The top four behind him were (I'm not making this up) Robert Byrd, Chuck Hagel, Evan Bayh and Joe Biden. Maybe it's not that big a deal to be the Hottest Senator in this crowd.
