So the second worst president of all time is now in charge....
Dallas 1963, Iran Contra, October Surprise, Willie Horton - Bush the Not Quite As Stupid was there for all of it. THIS is supposed to be an improvement?

1. At least Not as Stupid didn't pursue Reaganomics
the way Stupid has, didn't lose over 40% of the dollar's value, didn't make the US a world pariah, and got the hell out of a war when he said he would, although he stuck his successor with an unwinnable urban war in Somalia.

I don't think he was the second worst. Remember, he's competing against men like Polk, Hoover, Harding, and a few other scumbags, including Reagan. I'd put him third or maybe even fourth.

3. Amen
Not as Stupid wasn't as big of a bozo as we might think. Sure, he's a crook, but he at least had the foresight to preserve some sense of stability, even if it was only intended to protect his ill-gotten gains.

Dim Son can't even do that.

5. Third or Fourth is about right imo for he did nothing to stop the fiscal hemorrhaging
foisted on America by Saint Gipper's voodoo economics.

7. Old Bush signed the Second Clean Air Act (1992?) to his credit
I love the o/p 's subject line, though. What was old Bush's approval when he left office?

8. My thoughts exactly!
We Americans sure seem to have low standards. First Choosing W: a known looser (in everything he did from CEO to National Guard). And saving the world from his utter destruction? We have Poppy Bush. The tree from which the apple does not fall far.

lovely.

9. why bash Bush 41?
I don't think Bush 41 was that bad. He was able to put together a much better coalition than Bush 43 has. He did the right thing when Saddam invaded Kuwait. Maybe we should have finished the job back in 1991 but we will never know for sure if that would have worked. Look, the fact that Bush 43 is willing to try something else is a good thing. He got rid of Rumsfeld, so that's a start.

11. when asked why he didn't get rid of Saddam, Bush I said
that wasn't the UN mandate (which was correct).

There were press conference questions about why he didn't go in to help the Kurds against Saddam. (Remember, Bush I encouraged the Kurds to fight Saddam and implied that he would help them.)

--Bush I said 'Oh, that would be interfering in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation.' ????????As if constant bombing of the capitol city was not?????????

12. Snark
Read the OP. Dallas 1963, Iran Contra, October Surprise, Willie Horton. The entire * family has been a plague on the the US for at least 70 years now. And Smirk replacing Rumsfeld with an Iran/Contra criminal/friend of his pappy's after killing 700,000 people deson't get him off the hook, IMO.

BTW, I see you are new here. If you want to heap praise on Smirk and the Bush family in general, there are places where you'll be receieved more warmly than here.
