Do we have a dark horse candidate for 2008?
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 08:59 PM by nickshepDEM
Someone who did not run in 2004 and has not been mentioned by the media. Think Dean in 2002-2003.

Any thoughts as to who fits this profile? Governor John Lynch (NH), Governor Mike Easley (NC)?

1. I assume you mean "horse," not "hose." Anyways, how about Evan Bayh?

8. I'm not a fan of him
But he would be a decent candidate, at least in the way of helping us keep Congress with coat-tails.

4. Bill Richardson seemed to have disappeared from the conversation...
Given the Democratic gains in the Mountain West and Southwest, perhaps he's re-emerging?

10. I second that choice. Without bad advice this time, he might
be a formidable candidate.

6. Easley should run against Dole for Senate, and Lynch should consider
Running for Senate against Sununu, unless if Shaheen decides to run again (I think she would have a good case, considering she was victim of the NH phone-jamming scandal.)

12. Gary Hart
Edited on Sun Nov-12-06 09:38 PM by Mabus
He remains politically active and outspoken, especially on National Security matters. No one talks about him although he did consider a run in 2004.

edited to add: I want Gore.

14. He was one of the people with Kerry at Faneuil Hall in September
when Kerry gave his security speech. Hart spoke before Kerry and sounded great.

18. I've heard him talk several times
he's pretty impressive. The Rudman-Hart report on terrorism was spot on.

15. Yes, but I'm not going to jinx this possibility by posting his name.
It's a governor of a Western state, though, one who has not ever been discussed here.
