He has two years to switch positions on any matter that comes before congress. Do you really think he won't change his positions for political advantage? He switched political parties to take advantage of election laws in Connecticut. Does that inspire your trust in him?

as far as the OP is concerned. The question was why the repukes haven't been calling him a flip-flopper. I'm wondering which policy positions he has actually changed already. No, I don't trust him, but it seems to me like you shouldn't expect the repukes to call him names for things he hasn't done "as of yet" (not that you should expect it after, either).

but it seemed like very few here thought it was a possibility that he might switch in the weeks before the election. It is probably smarter to just deal with him for the next 2 years until, hopefully, he will become a moot point.

MAN, you can just SEE the arrogance in this man ... The MSM brainlessly rode the republican talking point that the primary was about the war ... When it came to bones, it was about dems seeing he had sold out ...

Now, you can just see the arrogance, the hubris, just pouring out of him ... He is feeling all vengeful and all, and you can tell he actually WANTS to flip ... It is almost scary to see a politician so CLEARLY self consumed ...

But, the root of this guy is his self interests, and he knows 1) if he flips, his career as a senator WILL end in 6 years ... 2) That he has BOTH parties by the balls at the moment, but all things being equal, he will get more from the dems than the Rs ... As much as they want him to flip, no way guys like Lyndsey Graham let him jump ahead of them in seniority ... They might be able to get him some advanced placement, but he won't be able to make up for the senority he has as a dem ...

He is only interested in going where he can stay in power. The democratic party is currently best for him because of seniority. The republicans are not going to give up seniority in their party to allow them to have a majority. So he will stick with us.
