It's time for all good Connecticut DU'ers
to let Lieberman know, by phone, email, and snail mail, that he won election because Connecticut voters took him as a man of his word -- and his promise was that he would remain a Democrat. And that you are SURPRISED and ALARMED about reports that he is already thinking of abandoning that promise. That you NEVER would have considered voting for another Republican in the Senate.

Let him know how concerned you are.

P.S. He doesn't have to know you voted for the other guy.

1. problem is he got lots of repub votes and lots of repub money.
But, if the general public is outraged with the repubs with all the investigating going on, he probably will stay a dem.

2. He couldn't have done it with Repub votes alone.
He needs to worry about losing Democratic votes next time around.

3. Exactly, he has to juggle 2 different sides if he wants to win the election
next time. But, if the public sides with the dems, I bet he will stay dem.

7. Republicans already voted for him knowing he was a Dem.
So it's the Dems that would be feeling betrayed if he left the party now.

6. As long as the Dems are in power they have him............
by the short and curlies. He craves the attention, power and authority and he wouldn't risk losing a chairmanship when push comes to shove. He will follow the party consensus when they demand it.

9. But if he defected to the Republicans now
then there would be a tie and Cheney would be the tie-breaker. The Repubs could offer him a chairmanship.

10. His ego would never let him take a
chairmanship in the minority when he could have one with the majority.

11. That's the point. If Lieberman switched to the Republicans,

Cheney would be the tie-breaker and the Republicans would elect the new majority leader.

12. Lieberman got, what? 35% of the Democratic vote?
I suspect most CT voters did not vote for him because he would remain a Democrat.

And I have yet to see any indication that he is already thinking of abandoning that promise.
