A milestone! Newsweek poll: Bush disapproval more than twice as much as approval! |
|
http://pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm31% approval / 63% disapproval I don't think that has happened yet. Next stop: The Nixon 20's!

4. We may soon see where that "dirty" boundary lies. |

I think it's more like the high 20's, but that's just a feeling based on experience and not any numerical analysis. My reasoning is that Chimp still hasn't had a single investigation launched against him. That means that there have not been any shocking revelations which we DUers all know will occur. When those things are reported--they *will* be reported--Chimp approval has to go down.
I'd put hard Chimp support between 26%-28%.
Watch what happens to his approval during the next two months. I predict that it will go down slowly. Then, when investigations begin and revelations are exposed, it could really take a dive. That's when we'll know how low it can go.

5. This may be a "loser low". I suspect he will come back up a bit if |

gas prices stay relatively low and things don't get even worse in Iraq. Anything under 40% and he pretty much is going to have to follow the lead of Pelosi and Reed.

Americans like underdogs but hate losers. I think he looked weak after Tuesday and even weaker when he fired Rumsfeld the next day. But, I don't think either of those stick, and the 5-10% who switched from before the election will probably be back.
Investigations, though, could change things significantly. That's why I think talk of impeachment is premature now. Let the investigations run their course; if the people want impeachment Congress will follow.
