But for one thing, I couldn't care less who the House Majority Leader is.
Hoyer, Murtha, individual to be named later--doesn't make a difference to me. Provided it's a Democrat of course, and I've already been assured of that. :)

What does make a difference is the desire to see the Democrats make sure they elect someone absolutely beyond reproach. Vet the hell out of the representative and elect someone with no ethical skeletons in the closet. Not even a hint of a whiff of decay!

Don't fuck this up over personal power greed folks. If you're tainted, *hint, hint* back the hell off!

1. "Beyond reproach". Interesting because I just used that phrase in my last
post. All Democrats should strive to be beyond reproach and to avoid the very appearance of wrongdoing, greed, illegal and unethical activities, and immoral conduct (because that still matters to millions of Americans.)

3. I don't think Nancy should have come out for Murtha.
Let the Party decide without any backing from the leadership.

But he was her campaign manager when she ran for Majority Leader against Hoyer.

Maybe she is afraid that if Hoyer gets it there will be animosity like there was between DeLay and Gingrich after the same scenario.

6. "Hint Hint"
I need more clues.....what did Murtha do anyway?

I strongly support him from what I've seen on TV. He is
charismatic, forceful, kind of folksy, and has connections in
the Pentagon.

He's one of those people, like Clinton, whom I pay attention
to whenever they make appearances.

I was hoping the Dems would start one of those online
petitions to the House to support Murtha.

Dean was the first as I recall to oppose the war, and Murtha
was not too far behind. It was an unpopular speech that
Murtha made and it took a lot of courage at the time.

So, what's the hint-hint all about?

7. Welcome Aboard FadedRose!
And just so you know.. .. I have no clue what the "hint hint" means either.

I like Murtha myself.. but then, like others.. I don't know anything about Hoyer.

9. Thanks for the welcome....
I still have to figure out how to use all the fancy stuff.

It's a great place to vent, and an even better place to learn.

Thank you,
martha

Unfortunately, although he has been a splendid critic of the war he is not the squeaky clean politician we need in a leadership position.
