Michael Steele as RNC chair? |
|
I would be absolutely blown away if this ever happened. Would be the first move Republicans ever got right. He's very different from the Mehlmans and the the rest of the Neo Cons. Reminds of of the more traditional Chaffee like conservatives.
Was impressed with his showing on Cspan over the weekend. I don't agree with his stanes on many issues but the fact that he's interested in bringing teachers to the table to discuss education is a plus. Very different than the Neo Can radical right way of doing things.
Let's see what happens. If this goes through that will be a signal that the Radical Right is finished.

2. The guy who plastered the state with "STEELE:Democrat" signs and stickers? |
|
THIS is the slimy, dishonest POS who "reminds you of Lincoln Chaffee"?
I really cannot agree.
I understand that politics is what it is, but the line between right and wrong has to be drawn SOMEWHERE... and Steele is WAAAAY beyond anywhere I've ever put it.

He plastered a slogan?
I could care less about the stuff. Coming off the Kerry Healy attack ads, Michael Steele is mild at best. Doesn't seem on the level of push polling/smearing that's gone on with the GOP regulars. That stuff annoys me and is destructive the system.
On the issues, after watching him on Cspan, he's much closer to Lincoln Chaffee than he is Bush/ Rumsfeld/Allen/Healy. I'd rather our politics be centered on real dialogue (Which Steele is more in that direction) than the shit we've seen the last 12 years.

4. A LIE. A deceiteful, dishonest, deliberately UNTRUE statement. |
|
A LIE designed to TRICK people into voting for him.
You "could care less about the stuff"?
Well, I'll thank you for being so up-front about your values. While I suspect that you and I are probably never going to agree on a lot of things, I appreciate your honesty.
Which is more than I will ever say for Michael Steele.

5. Well he's certainly qualified. He's said to be a proficient liar and he'd |
|
bring ample shame to the chair, thus upholding the GOP standard of crooked RNC employees.
During his debate on MTP, he refused to concede he would have changed his support or any decision concerning the war in Iraq when even neocons such as Richard Perle and Bill Kristol have gone on record saying the war is a disastrous failure.
As we saw last week, Steele was swept away by the tsunami of voter outrage and he lost big time.
He also dived into the sewer during the campaign with his slimy attempt to try to trick people (primarily African American Democrats) into voting for him by printing up a bunch of "STEELE DEMOCRAT" stickers, when of course he's a Republican.
He never disclosed his party affiliation during campaign advertisements in what could only be viewed as a desperate attempt to trick voters. Just ask his opponent.
And to compare Steele to Lincoln Chafee is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard since "Mission Accomplished."
