Guiliani will crash and burn in the primaries
The Repug base, especially in the South will utterly reject him. And, can you say BAGGAGE?

You might see him reborn as a Veep choice though.

We have a magnificent slate of possible choices......although I regret Feingold's choice because I would have liked to at least give him primary support. We may disagree on many details, but all our people are intelligent, and they even have hearts. Under what rock are the Republicans going to have to dig for their candidates?

I can't wait to see Newt and Rudy face off for the primaries.

2. he had a big fundraiser here in Alabama in 1999
It was at a fancy restaurant in Tuscaloosa. All the richest white guys from the area attended. But this is when he was getting ready to run against Hillary for Senate... and I think this may've been before he lived with a couple of gay dudes.

4. Rudy G came to Des Moines and had a small fucking needless
army of security guards with him. As though anyone even cared. Sucks to be him.

6. The Problem with That is....
who ARE they going to pick? The base dislikes McCain just as much as Giuliani. None of the farther right candidates have the stature IMO to pull the nomination off. Jeb Bush will bear the brunt of Bush fatigue.

I really have a hard time seeing any of the current crop as odds-on favorites.

Maybe the Republicans have been shaken enough by the midterms that they will for once nominate someone with more moderate policies. And if that's the case, Giuliani does have some things going for him, name his background as a prosecutor, September 11, and turning NYC around.

12. If he does make it the Democrats should have a field day
The GOP may well rally around Rudy and force their candidates to pull their punches against the party favorite. (McCain never went after Bush the way he could have neither did Gore or Kerry but hopefully Democrats have learned a few things from those elections) Donna Hannover (the former Mrs. G) could be bought off, but still there's a rich opportunity here to inform the populace about what sort of guy old Rudy really is.

Did you hear about Bernie KeriK?

Ah, the many scandals of Rudy Guiliani. This could be fun.
