or is this just an amazing coincidence? From Raw Story and Bradblog:
2000 Connecticut Election D Lieberman 828,902 63.21% R Giordano 448,077 34.17
2006 U.S. Senate Election O lieberman 563,725 50% D Lamont 448,077 40% RSchlesinger109,329 10%
Two elections, two opponents, same numbers. Schlesinger got was left.

1. Sometimes an accident is just an accident. |

It is nothing more than coincidence because I have yet to see anything that would indicate theft of the election.

2. Nah. It was a co-inky-dink. Lieberman confused enough Dems |
|
by changing his Iraq stance and got most of the Republicans to vote for him.

4. My question is how did he get the majority of republicans voting for him? |
|
That's the bit that really mystifies me...

11. They must know it WELL. |
|
I mean, 40% for Lamont implies 1 in 5 Dems(50%) support him, which seems right. But 4 in 5 republicans supporting him is something else!

The majority of the Republicans that voted for him probably (just a guess on my part) support his stance on the occupation of Iraq. He is also a 'friend' to big business. Then, there is always the "Cyndi Lauper" equation...."Money changes everything!" :)

8. Simple. He's a Bush rubber stamp when it comes to the War in |
|
Iraq and the mostly moderate Republicans voted for him because the likes of Ed Koch and Mike Bloomberg were showing up to vouch for him. Meanwhile the national GOP, left their candidate, Schesslinger(probably spelled it wrong, but can you blame me, this guy had no support whatsoever), high and dry with absolutely no support.

13. Schlesinger was a horrible candidate |

And had scandal attached to him as well, and I could believe the Connecticut Republican Party wasn't even campaigning for Schlesinger, but Lieberman. Was there even an ad put out by Schlesinger? I didn't see one. It was as if he didn't even exist in this race.

14. Conspiracy Theories NEVER DIE (but they still smell) |
|
Edited on Tue Nov-14-06 11:45 AM by Dick Diver
Get over it. Lieberman won by winning 70% of the Reps, 35% of the Dems, and 50% of the Indies. This particular conspiracy theory has been consistently debunked. If you want the official numbers, go to the CT State website, not a secondary source.
On edit: This shows how unreliable some internet "news sources" can be if they, instead of going to perfectly available PRIMARY sources, publish material based on SECONDARY sources.

You got Democrats so obssessed with you, they will do blindly follow everything you do.
DU is now officially the atalk Lieberman website.
There will be members here that record everyone of your bowel movements.
If you stole it. Way to go.
For two year Dems will do nothing but watch what you do.
This will be hilarious. Enjoy the show.
