Inspired by Lieberman enablers, I am reserving the right...
to vote Green in the 2008 election.

I am not advocating for the Green candidate, I am simply not ruling out voting for him.
I am not posting flamebait, I am simply pointing out what trouble Lieberman enablers have wrought.

party loyalty is only a one-way street aparently, and its about to be a zero-way street.

You can thank: Ben Nelson, Harry Reid, Harold Ford, Mary Landrieu, Tom Carper, Mark Pryor, James Amman, Lieberman apologists on DU, 35% of CT dem voters, and all those who have used the primary system as a cudgel to undercut progressive power in this party, without respecting it when it goes against the closet cons.

Hope we pick someone good!

2. All I'm saying
is that if others in the party will not get behind the candidate who wins the primary out of party loyalty, then why should I do so?

How is that fair?

The nominee will have to earn my vote just like Lamont had to earn the endorsement of the above mentioned "democrats".

4. of course
and DU should get credit. It did ban open Lieberman supporters. This is not DUs fault. This is the fault of the Democratic party leadership for not making it clear that what Joe was doing was wrong.

Our party survives because of the primary system. In the primary we advocate for who we want, and we UNITE behind the winner to beat the Republican.

Apparently this only works when the DLC approves of the nominee.

6. Ben Nelson? Do you have any idea who the alternative was?
Pete Ricketts, a rich, ultraconservative son of the founder of Ameritrade and somewhere to the right of Bush.

Would you prefer that we Nebraskans had voted for him?

7. Many Dems lined up to support and campaign for Lamont
If you want an excuse to vote for greens, have at it. But it doesn't seem like a very logical one to me -- you are blaming a few politicians, and DU posters.

But many Dem politicians supported Lamont in the election after Lieberman lost the primary.
