And, no, I don't think Joe Lieberman should even be allowed to chair a committee on Senate restroom sanitation, much less Homeland Security.

3. Senate Demcrats seem to like him:
Senate Democrats give Lieberman standing ovation
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, who bolted the Democratic party after losing a primary election this year to run as an independent, won a standing ovation at a closed meeting of all Senate Democrats Tuesday.

Lieberman was introduced by Democratic Leader Harry Reid who, according to Lieberman, told his colleagues that, "families go through crisis but we survived and I just want to welcome back Joe Lieberman."

"It's been a helluva year," Lieberman told the group before imploring them to heed the lessons of the midterm election and "be willing to compromise" with Republicans.

5. Neither is Bernie Sanders, and yet I don't hear you complaining.
Lets just call a spade a spade here guys, you don't feel Leiberman is liberal enough so you dont want him in a position of leadership. And at least Leiberman is at least likely of becoming a Democrat again while Bernie Sanders(even though I like him more) shows no signs of becoming a Democrat. Leiberman won, get over it. He is still largely a progressive and will serve his state better than any rethug out there.
