4. Note to Santorum Kids: Your Daddy is a bad man. He hates. He
discriminates. He's a bigot.

What goes around comes around. It's called Karma. Learn that we are all equal, regardless of our skin color, sex, sexual preference, religion, etc. And we all must share one World, which gets smaller all the time. Treat everyone equally and you won't grow up to be hated like your Daddy.

5. The look in his son's eyes (the one on the right).......
sends shivers down my spine.

We really shouldn't involve anyone's kids in their parent's politics. I hated it when the freepers were always putting Chelsea Clinton down. It's not fair.

34. That poor kid.
He looks so lost. He looks like he's ready to morph into a demon like Carrie, to get rid of the people who hurt his feelings.

It really is too bad the kids get drawn into the politicians' messes, and it is too bad the politicians drag them into it.

37. They're cyber-schooled.
That was one of the issues in the election. Santorum was making PA taxpayers pay to cyber-school his kids, while they were living in VA all the while.

back in Pennsylvania, where she doesn't know anybody ... now that her Daddy lost his job, he may actually have to do some real work, instead of getting $$$ from under the table ...

But it looks like the kids could stand to miss a few meals ...

28. They held a dead baby - it lived 2 hours outside the womb
I'm sorry but every time DU'ers and Randi Rhodes spill this heartless crap you sound just like the Freepers.

It was their baby. It was their business how their family decided to mourn this child. I can't stand Santorum but I wish you all would give this a rest - and give the crying kids a rest too! Enjoy the Casey victory.

In his Senate office, on a shelf next to an autographed baseball, Sen. Rick Santorum keeps a framed photo of his son Gabriel Michael, the fourth of his seven children. Named for two archangels, Gabriel Michael was born prematurely, at 20 weeks, on Oct. 11, 1996, and lived two hours outside the womb.

Upon their son's death, Rick and Karen Santorum opted not to bring his body to a funeral home. Instead, they bundled him in a blanket and drove him to Karen's parents' home in Pittsburgh. There, they spent several hours kissing and cuddling Gabriel with his three siblings, ages 6, 4 and 1 1/2. They took photos, sang lullabies in his ear and held a private Mass.

"That's my little guy," Santorum says, pointing to the photo of Gabriel, in which his tiny physique is framed by his father's hand. The senator often speaks of his late son in the present tense. It is a rare instance in which he talks softly.

He and Karen brought Gabriel's body home so their children could "absorb and understand that they had a brother," Santorum says. "We wanted them to see that he was real," not an abstraction, he says. Not a "fetus," either, as Rick and Karen were appalled to see him described -- "a 20-week-old fetus" -- on a hospital form. They changed the form to read "20-week-old baby."

46. I've made comments about that event before. I was wrong.
Since, happily, I've never been involved in circumstances where I had the choice to cuddle a deceased fetus or baby, I should not negatively comment on those who have. I've said many things about Santorum. Commenting on how he handled this sorrowful event or on how his children look in the pictures we see are things I regret.

10. I feel bad for politician's kids.
When I was a kid, my father was in local politics. He was an alderman, then a county commissioner. Then he ran for mayor and lost. When you're a kid, you don't understand that there are Democrats and Republicans, or that those candidates stand for different issues. You just know that people didn't vote for your dad, and it really hurts. It took a me a long time to understand that they didn't dislike him as a person. Politician's kids have it hard.

There's something very 60's about that. The doll even looks like it could be the same one that the little girl from 'Family Affair' carried around. And we all know what happened to her.....

My daughter wants one but I think they're creepy. Those dolls come with an outfit and one just like it for the human girl. Those dolls have more accessories than I do.

40. 60s?
Try the 50s.

I feel bad for the kids. The poor little girl is being force onto the public stage to be used to make people feel bad for her father. She's being used in the worst way.

Maybe Karma will have her say eventually. Perhaps the little girl will grow up to be an emancipated woman and use birth control and think for herself.

Ask yourself how you would feel if this were the child of a Dem that lost. I do not understand why more people do not consider this or do and then ignore their own good judgment.

17. I can see where that argument could be made
But I've looked and looked at the picture, and I just can't see a gun pointed at Mr. Santorum that forced him to march his entire family out to the podium while he made his concession speech.

Some things are private, and his family's upset over his loss should have been kept private. By not doing so Mr. Santorum was using them as political props, which isn't too surprising, in that it's of a piece with his entire political career, largely built on style rather than substance.

I wouldn't post the picture myself, but by stage-managing the photo op, Mr. Santorum is really ultimately responsible for its use or misuse. In my opinion.

I feel sorry for his kids - I think they are somewhat isolated with the home schooling. I don't knock home schooling, but I can't help but think a lot of my attitudes were formed by being in different environments, exposed to teachers and students who didn't necessarily think like my parents.

If there is such a thing, which is more than just a stretch, then its actions have been nothing short of capricious and brutal. Take heart in knowing that the big sky chief has given daddy much more power than he really deserves. Take this as a momentary setback as he regroups and sucks more money from the weak and confused.

Who pays for your schoolin'?
