My Question for the General...
Sir, did you not agree with the President's statement that the Iraq is the central campaign/war against terrorism?

Yes...

Then, how do you reconcile your statement earlier today where you say...

<paraphrase>

"I do not believe that Al Queda can gain favor in the Iraqi government or it's people. Our fight is with the insurgents and militia."

Are you saying that our main concern is with the people of Iraq and not terrorists?

Does anyone else here see the contradiction. This is fucking double-speak.

2. Abizaid cannot speak the truth without losing his job....
I hope congress takes his testimony with a grain of salt. The fundamental contradiction that Abizaid cannot address is that there is no way to "win" in Iraq-- "winning" is not even defined. Congress has to see that-- the generals will never face it.

3. Then...
... my question would be: General, please define "winning" or "victory" in Iraq.
