6. Stockpiling it up for her
presidential run. I've been getting solicitation letters from her here in California for the last year-and-a-half. Apparently her staff doesn't understand "fuck off you DLC corporate whore, I'll never give you my vote, much less my money" message I regularly return to her campaign.

11. I'm just sayin...
It's probably EASY to burn through 36 million when
you're mailing freakin POSTERS to people in OTHER
STATES!

Bumper Stickers, too.

I could have recovered my couch!

4. 36 million? Wow
Alot of people must be covering all their bases just in case she takes the Democratic nomination in 2008. It's a pity she didn't divert a little more of that to contested races elsewhere.

Both grossly out-spent, but it did not matter.

10. How the hell did Clinton spend $36m?
On what and why? She would have won hands down if she spent $0! So why 36m?

Hey, GOP! If you'd put that cash in Virginia, then the Senate would be...

Well, you know.

13. $36MM?!?!?!?!?!
Edited on Wed Nov-15-06 08:04 PM by yebrent
WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And now her stooge, Carville is on the attack against Dean because he didn't borrow another $6MM and pony up to his clients. I think this will come back to haunt HRC in the primaries. She should have shared the wealth, especially if she has presidential aspirations.

Hillary, Carville and the DLC are the biggest losers of this election. You knew this was true because the DLC people were the first to claim credit and say they have a mandate to govern from the center. If they really were responsible for the win, they would have waited for people to praise them.

Recommended, because everyone needs to see how greedy Hillary is.

17. No.
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 12:55 AM by hawkowl88
No. She spent the money on herself. A frivolous and even reckless waste of precious resources. How many other races could she have swung if she so chose? She could've been king maker in dozens of races. It has been postulated that she spent this ridiculous amount of money simply to ensure a greater landslide for herelf. Simply to inflate her popularity percentage. Her biggest drawback in her mind his the high percentage of people who have a negative opinion of her. I think she was looking for a large positive number to counter this perception. She apparently was using shrubs election as Texas Gov. as a model for her own stepping stone to the presidency. She apparently doesn't give a rat's ass about the good of the country, or the good of the people. All she apparently cares about is her own self aggrandizement and the accumulation of unfettered power.

(edited for grammar)

18. Ford could have used a few million more
Edited on Thu Nov-16-06 01:46 AM by fujiyama
as could several other House candidates.

Hillary did OK raising money for others, but $36 million on a safe seat is inexcusably stupid and wasteful, that too to just "pad the margin".

On second thought, I've been reading the other forum and I've heard from other in NY State, that it's still not certain what this money was spent on. Most have said that they saw few Hillary ads. Until there is a final breakdown (perhaps in FEC filings) I'll reserve judgement.
