My message to James Carville
As a 31 tear old man, I probably should have been involved in politics longer than I have been. I probably should have paid more attention in the 90's when everybody was on Clinton's ass for every move he did and didn't make, but I didn't. Perhaps I could have paid more attention to the 2000 recount fiasco...but I didn't. What it took to wake me up was this illegal and immoral war. At the time, Howard Dean was the only voice saying it was all right to be against the war and the corruption. It was Howard Dean that got me interested in politics. I actually wanted to follow the primaries in 2004 because of Dean. I would never have done that in years past. It certainly wasn't a bunch of Washington insiders and career politicians and spindoctors that drew my interest. I am registered democrat thanks to people like Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, and Wesley Clark. When I tell people that I'm a registered democrat, I always feel like I have to explain that I'm a Howard Dean democrat, so they don't get the idea that I would follow the kind of party line folks like James Carville and his ilk represent. So go ahead and bash him all you want, but the party you used to represent doesn't exist anymore. This is a new crowd that wants change, and Howard Dean has helped to deliver that change and we love him for it.
Brian

3. A great letter with a fine conclusion:
"So go ahead and bash him all you want, but the party you used to represent doesn't exist anymore. This is a new crowd that wants change, and Howard Dean has helped to deliver that change and we love him for it."

Unhappily, Carville won't have the foggiest notion of what you're speaking about.

5. I agree. Dean is the real winner!
And, here is another example of what his strategy means for the future, as quoted in a diary on DKos:

historically the party that controls the most governorships has the advantage in Presidential elections. If you want to think about it in terms of electoral votes, Democratic governors are in place in states that combined will have 295 electoral votes, up from 126.

Ah, the wisdom of a 50-state strategy

Also, there is a rumor that John Edwards is being looked at to run against Elizabeth Dole for the Senate seat in N. Carolina.
Now, THAT would be interesting!

6. Agree. Dean is shining. He won it for us. We love him twice over.
Carville is so out of step now, he seems like a wolf in weasel's clothing. I used to love Carville for helping Stephanopoulos get the Big Dog elected. Now I can only wonder if his witch of a wife cast some evil spell over the man. Dat cajun crazy.

12. his ilk are not going to leave on their own accord, the need to be kicked off their perch
by "we the people". It isn't Dem vs Repuke, it is corporatists vs the people. Carville and Hillary are on the wrong side of the battle lines.

I heard it best put into a simple phrase recently, "Those who value wealth over work vs those who value work over wealth" when you split it down that line it becomes clear who is on which side.

10. AMEN!!!!
at 6'3", 210 pounds, I'd like to show carville what "RAGIN!!!" is really about and shove his head straight up his ass where it belongs.

carville wrote his book, "Had Enough?" or whatever it was but it was basically an ode to following the DLC party line of appeasement to republicans.

screw that. We democrats need to stand up for what WE believe. and I'll tell you one thing, win, lose, or, draw, the american people will love us for standing up for ourselves rather than blowing where the fair weather leads us.

carville's message is a message for losing

dean's message is for standing up for ourselves and winning

when you stand up for who you are, nothing and no one can take that away from you.

And your name is my all time favorite film.

18. My Message to Brian
Who cares. We are fighting Republicans and changing the direction.

That's what America voted for.

If you and Dean want to get a room, go for it.

I worked on two races as well. We won one in a real red state.

Guess what? No one I talked to even gave a rat's ass who Howard Dean was.

So feel better about wasting your time.

25. Good job at dividing the Democratic Party & festering the DU Carville witch hunt
When I tell people that I'm a registered democrat, I always feel like I have to explain that I'm a Howard Dean democrat, so they don't get the idea that I would follow the kind of party line folks like James Carville and his ilk represent.

So this is how you're supposed to contribute to the Democratic Party? By encouraging one faction of the party and shaming another? Way to go!!

I wish Dean had won the primaries last time. If he had, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have seen a second term of the worst president in history. James Carville, OTOH, is someone that I've always been happy has been in our foxhole. When no one else was coming to the aid of Democrats for all those years, Carville was one of the few who would. When people call Democrats wimps, they aren't talking about Carville. The man has been like a pit bull whenever the need has arisen to slap down beligerant Republicans, so enough with this ongoing DU witch hunt against one of them most loyal Democrats EVER, bar none.

26. You and many other young folks. We would be doomed without
newly energized younger voters.

I just heard Carville on Stephanie Miller running his mouth and rationale.

My message to Carville would just be: "I don't believe you"
