The smack down Carville deserves!

And When He Sees His Reflection, He's Fulfilled

I see Carville is continuing his ridiculous crusade against the DNC chair who presided over a Congressional victory nobody could have plausibly foreseen a year ago. The key graf is this one:

He said he tried to meet with Dean to argue for additional spending for Democrats in the final days of the campaign, but Dean declined and gave no reason why.

Ah, yes, this is the issue. The real problem with Dean is that he wouldn't listen to the sage advice of James Carville, just because he's a far-past-his-sell-by-date hack with nothing worthwhile to offer and no discernible constituency, and is the kind of person who would gin up a circular firing squad on a farcially silly pretext in a period in which the Democrats should be all rights be happy and relatively unified. All one can say is, good for Dean. Indeed, Carville is beginning to remind me of the most destructive faux-populist narcissist to curse progressive politics in America in the last decade:

Snip...

Shorter James Carville and Ralph Nader: "Me me me me me me me me me!!!!" Luckily, during the 2008 campaign they figure to be equally irrelevant...

...Roxanne: "There is serious work ahead. Countless lives are at stake. And your unfounded grandstanding is a distraction from ending our long national nightmare."

Ouch!

1. I proudly give this it's first recommendation....
Carville is a malignant, narcissistic, arrogant, loud-mouthed a**hat.

(Oh, and he's WRONG.)

2. He has been even stronger in this article...

Highly intelligent stuff from a guy who hasn't had a good idea since the 'War Room'.

3. Rumsfeldian incompetence!
Snort! Um, no, no incompetence at all. If Carville wants to see Rumsfeldian incompetence, he need only look in the mirror. That and irrelevance.

6. Remember when he broke that egg over his head?
I think he gave himself a concussion and has never recuperated.

I woke up this morning and my first thoughts were about Carville dissing Dean and I got really angry. Then I got doubly angry because we won this election and Carville is giving us another reason to be all pissed off, all over again, when we should be enjoying ourselves and congratulating one another for a hard-earned victory.

Stop it, Carville, you megalomaniac. Give credit where credit is due or please just STFU.

12. My letter to Carvillain...
Date: Sat, 11 Nov 2006 13:44:31 -0800 (PST)
From: xxxxxxxx
Subject: Please be quiet...
To: james@carville.info

after you apologize to Howard Dean and the Democratic Party, of which you apparently are a former member.

Why on earth would you advocate replacing Dean after one of the biggest wins in history? And then you go and compliment the RNC saying they did a better job? What planet are you on, or should I ask what party are you in? First you leak insider information th day after the 2004 elections, most likely causing a Kerry loss, now this?

Dean's 50 state strategy worked and worked damn well thank you very much. He understands the importance of the netroots and reaching out to all the people, something you apparently care nothing about. He raised an enormous about of money for the party, record numbers in fact, and gained seats for us in areas the DLC was ready to write off.

It seems you are attempting to position yourself for a Clinton '08 run. Well let's forget about that. While she is a fine senator, she is too divisive and not electable as president and will ruin the party's chances of winning the presidency, so just put that thought away.

Now please offer up a public apology and then go away. We're done with you.

Sincerely,
xxxxxxxxx

15. Like OJ, he's been reduced to selling his autograph (yes, really)
http://www.autographedtoyou.com/James-Carville-autograph.htm

Sad, really. But with Mary on her way to The Hague, I suppose he's got to provide for the kids alone.

Not easy when you're a pariah.

16. Carville isn't really a Dem,
he just plays one on TV. He is irrelevant, and I'm tired of having his goofy mug show up in punditland to "represent" the Dems. :eyes:

Gosh, Dean's 50 state strategy was SUCH a flop-- Didn't we just win both the HOUSE and the SENATE?? Yep. Total failure. uh-huh.
