5. Rumors are that Warner and Domenici may retire?
So there would be open seats. Perhaps even a couple more may retire?

13. Warner needs to retire
He is officially an old gas bag. He was on Wolfie the other day and every time he was asked about someone, he would answer by saying, "I've known Joe Blow sine 1962 and he's one of the finest men in the country." Yes but what about answering the question?

6. I don't have the list, but I know both of my Ga. Sens are!
Chambliss & Isackson. I believe I heard somewhere there are 27 Pubs v/s 14 Dems up for re-election in 08. That's a heck of a big difference! Ifthe Dems elected in 06 do a decent job, wecould take q nice majority in 08!

10. Nope, only Sackofshit Chambliss is up.
And I hope he goes down in flames......
I honestly think the only person who could go up against him could and should be Max Cleland.

Isakson isn't up for reelection until 2010. Remember, he went up against the oh so wonderful Denise Majette, who ran because God told her to. Maybe we can find candidates that don't hear voices to run next time.

17. Sorry. I thought I remembered voting against both btd's in the same year!
I think we should bontact the DNC and ask them to begin the search for a GOOD candidate to run against Saxby! Maybe between Howard & Raham, they can find a really GOOD ONE!

20. Only 33 a year are up each cycle (except for the class with 34)
Dole and Alexander are up. So is Coleman. Hopefully we could get two of those three.

7. Don't have the full list
It was posted in a couple of threads earlier this week.

Inhofe of Oklahoma, McConnell of Kentucky, and Roberts of Kansas come readily to mind. Lindsey Graham and Norm Coleman are also coming up, I believe, as is Gordon "Pondkiller" Smith of Oregon.

14. Wow,... thank for the rapid response,....
---- It DOES turn out that the GOPers will be trying to defend significantly more senate seats in 2008,.. 21-to-12? Was that it? Cool. Maybe a super-majority is too much to hope for,... but we ought to net a few more seats, eh? Anyway,.. thanks again you guys

And would love to see Al Franken do it but believe anybody can beat Norm Coleman.

18. If Domenici retires, Madrid could run for his seat...
since it appears that Wilson will now win that House seat. NM has been turning blue, when they get out the vote.

19. I would add another vulnerable D...
Tim Johnson in South Dakota only won by a few hundred votes last time, so you know the Repigs will be out for him BIG TIME.

I've said it before, if Warner retires Mark Warner takes the seat for us in a walk.

Id Dominici retires, Bill Richardson could pick that seat up for us in a walk.

I agree that Coleman and Allard are the two most vulnerable Repigs, with Sununu and Smith also on the edge.

That gives them four "endangered incumbents" coupled to two for us (Johnson and Landrieu). That gives us a 2-seat pick-up (maybe as high as four). Add the two possible retirement flips and we could see a gain of 4 to 6 seats in 2008.

21. I'd thought about the "Warner-for-Warner" switch, too...
----That would be a wonderful turn of events for Virginia,.. and it would seemingly be a good resume fortification for Mark Warner's possible presidential aspirations later on,..

---- A 55D-to-45R senate would be nice.
