I was impressed with both Hoyer and Murtha today...
both were gracious and professional. I don't see this as being as big an issue as the media is making it. Time to move on.

2. What do you think
about Hoyer's habit of leaking inside information about Congressional Dems to the news media? Don't you think its important for Dems to maintain some message discipline in their new capacity, particularly given all the biased coverage the corporate news media is giving them now?

12. Here's a good example
recent, too.

All on his own, Hoyer goes to the news media and announces that "Social Security changes are on the table - that Dems will consider an increase in taxes and an increase in the eligibility age". Where did that come from? Certainly not from Dem leadership in the House, yet here's Hoyer running to the news media, flapping his gums and acting like its gospel.

That's a serious problem.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15719985/

WASHINGTON - Rep. Steny Hoyer, D- Md., seeking to become the Majority Leader in the new Congress, reiterated Tuesday what he has said before about Social Security: Democrats absolutely rule out any consideration of President Bush’s proposal for voluntary private accounts for younger workers. But raising taxes and increasing the eligibility age for receiving retirement benefits are “on the table,” Hoyer said.

3. That's the media.......looking for a scandal or something!
If there's nothing there (which there isn't), they make something up.

6. The media are this administration's lap dogs
ever since we gained a majority they have been looking for anything to trash us

The good news is that they have been wrong 90% of the time in the last six years:
