The desperation is on the Republic Party side, not ours.

In any other time, the **process** for selection of Majority Leader would merit a half column inch on page B37 and virtually nothing on teevee. The actual outcome might be reported in the 'National News Wrap' feature on page A3.

But in the Bizarro World now occupied courtesy of our Three Monkey Media (See/Hear/Speak nothing not approved by our masters) it is the lead story. And it is the lead story for no other reason than they are so fucking desperate to paint the Republic Party as cool, calm, and collected and the Democrats as hot, angry, and in disarray.

This is a minor point, really, but part of a much larger SERIOUS issue.

We MUST wrest the media away from the dark forces now controlling it.

You want the voting system fixed? If the media were reporting the actual, unspun facts, the people would be clamoring for it.

You want out of Iraq? If the media were reporting the unspun facts, we may never have even gone there and SURELY would not be there now.

You want health care for all? If the media were not cheering the deflective bullshit like the prescription drug plan, the people would be demanding it.

You want gay marriage? If the media were reporting the story unspun and not, instead, pushing the Republic Party's Hate Wing's position, we might be there now.

With almost any issue you can think of, if the media simply did its job and reported facts, we'd be there.

The media are NOT our friends.

The media are NOT doing their jobs.

The Fourth Estate needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

And in my view, if you want to call one issue our Job Number One ...... this is it.

I wonder ...... did George Orwell have some time warp access to 2000-2006 America when he was working on 1984?

1. The media IS the opposition.
With the possible exception of the LINKTV, Free speech tv and maybe the cartoon channel, the entire visual media and almost all radio and printed outlets are strictly the enemy.

If all the media were destroyed it would be a net gain for the side of honesty and sanity-namely, us.

I know that Keith Olberman and Countdown is a wonderful resource but msnbc and all its brethren are of zero positive value.

I, too, keep searching, from time to time, on the news commentator channels for a reason to be positive about their being but it's simply a waste of time--go back to the cartoons.
