Who I would like to have a beer with, and see as my President... |
|
THE General: General Wesley Clark!
I was fortunate to meet the man once, shook hands and chatted for about 3-4 minutes...It was in 2004. Since then, I continued to listen to him, heard just about all his commentaries about things, domestic issues and international affairs, foreign policy...etc.
I would love to have a beer with him, AS MY PRESIDENT!
He is:
More sincere than Hillary More knowledgeable than Biden More humble than Kerry More compassionate than Edwards More determined, a fighter, a soldier, than all of them (and all others) combined.
I guess I am decided...

Busy weekend this weekend. Had fun during the election, trying todo my thing. Found out I didn't make the top 10 in the Packer Fan Hall Of Fame Contest (a colleague nominated me.) Oh well, maybe next year.

2. I would love to have a beer with John Kerry |

Wait, I did, last year. And he paid.
Awesome guy, fun talk. Very impressive man, yet very willing to sit down and talk with folks one on one.
I liked him a lot.
Then again, I don't have to give him superlatives that rank him better than or less than anyone else. I just liked the guy for who he was at that moment. Worked for me.

I like him for the reasons you noted, and more ...
This is a man who was driving across the midwest listening to XM or whatever, heard some knucklehead on the Sean Hannity show and called up ... Not too many of our candidates have that kind of pure level of care about the democratic party ... What other democratic candidate could be regular on Fox News and not go ape shiite on the morons, while still not giving ONE inch ???
I like that he isn't a politician ... If he was a republican, that would be what the MSM would be all over right now, that he isn't some "Washington Insider" ...
And, finally ... This county has SERIOUS international problems ... SERIOUS ... And, of all the candidates, he has by far the best real life international experience, military background and SOLID PROGRESSIVE philosophies about the world ...
I don't know that in my adult life that this country has ever been in a situation where it absolutely saw the best man for the job of president, as Wes Clark is right now ...

15. I never got this being a "selling point" for *, at all! |

Who in hell would want to have a beer with the Shrub? He's arrogant, self-centered, domineering, can't talk in actual sentences, is ignorant, patronizing, tells deeply unfunny jokes, is probably a mean drunk, and has that fucking offensive FAKE accent.
I'd love to have a beer with Wes Clark. Or John Kerry. Or Al Gore. Or John Edwards. Or Hillary Clinton. Or Barack Obama. Etcetera etcetera. Nothing to do with who's my first pick for Pres--these are just all highly intelligent, well-spoken, well-read, well-traveled people who probably would have a lot of fascinating things to say and stories to tell, and probably aren't all that bad at listening either!
