DLC: You're either with them or against them. Carville shot the first shot
of the 2006 - 2008 democratic war. This is how I see it. The DNC and Dean represent the democratic grassroots/ webroots and the DLC with Carville, Clinton, etc. represent the corporate backed democratic elitists.

The corporate cabal that runs our government took a serious blow when their republican lackeys got too greedy and tried to kill the goose. While wounded the corp cabal is far from defeated. They cover their bets and have bought themselves some democrats. The corps control the presidency, and all the republicans which is half the Congress. All they need to control the Country is a few democrats in their pockets. I think that is the DLC.

Keep Dean and dump Carville and his pals at the DLC.

We need to work harder than ever. We cleaned out the easy targets. It will be harder from here on out.

Peace to all

1. Carville has neither the ammunition nor the troop strength to win.

Not unlike Bush. There's a new world order in town, Jimmy--go with the flow or drown.

2. I wouldn't suggest dumping the DLC. I'd suggest marginalizing them. We
do need there (D) but that doesn't mean we give them a whole lotta say so.

7. Absolutely. Conservatives out of power have a use
They're the ones who can help us put the brakes on anything that starts to turn excessive, to help Congress draft legislation that has a chance of getting passed.

They've been an unmitigated disaster since they've been in power. Their marginalization is long past due.

10. The current Democratic Majority Leader will need to be marginalized, then. Hoyer is a loyal DLCer.

And, I would support this, too.

I'm just happy that 'Speaker of the House' outranks him.

3. the DLC is no friend of the grassroots democratic party and progressives
nope, no sir. not a bit.

Their job is simple: Marginalize the party's effectiveness by constantly harping about 'moving to the center', this center, which seems to curiously continue to move to the right, and that the progressives should follow. :grr:

4. It's the coverup wing of the party vs the anti-corruption, open government wing

of the Democratic party. This attack on Dean is just their most BLATANT attempt. The attacks have been there on other Dems from behind the scenes. They are working FAST now to control DNC for 2008 and have become more vocal and obvious, but make no doubt about it, they have been helping sabotage Dems since Gore in 2000.

You think it was just happenstance that McAuliffe left party infrastructure in collapse for the four years he was in charge of strengthening it?

6. Was Re-Reading "What's Wrong With Kansas" Last Night
And was struck by something I'd missed back when I read it the first time: one of the largest contributors to the DLC is Charles Koch, CEO of Koch Industries, Right Wing nutjob extraordinaire (founder of the Cato Institute among others) and well known (among Kansans anyway) financier of candidates in the John Birch Society Wing of the GOP. Question for Carville: why does a man famous for making illegal campaign contributions to extreme Right Wing Republicans contribute money to your Caucus? Charlie Koch never spent a cent in his life he didn't figure was going to earn him a dollar down the road.

8. Carville
Agree with your post, but have to add something.

I have a hard time understanding anything Carville says. He comes off as too rude and his diction is bad. He needs speech therapy if he wants to speak for the Dems.

9. Shoot Down Carville, Go For His Clients.
Carville's web site <http://www.carville.info/> lists Senator Frank Lautenberg, Senator Edward Kennedy and Senator Joe Kennedy (sic) as being among his clients. There is no Senator Joe Kennedy in this world, but as there is a Representative Patrick Kennedy, I figured I'd write him too, just in case Carville had confused a Joe with a Patrick and a Senator with a Representative.

I wrote to Senators Lautenberg and Ted Kennedy asking if they really are Carville's clients and, if so, whether they wouldn't like to publicly disavow Carville's attacks on Dean. Its easy to send them an e-mail through .

As for Representative Patrick Kennedy, I wrote to him to say that his dead grandfather and/or dead great uncle were listed as Carville clients, and wouldn't he like to publicly disavow Carville's remarks on their behalf. Its hard to send Patrick Kennedy an e-mail through congress.org unless you use a Rhode Island zip code in your "return" address, but there is a zip code number clearly printed within Representative Kennedy's Rhode Island office address, although I know you wouldn't want to cheat and enter that zip in place of your own.

Oh, Zell Miller is listed as a Carville client too, but I didn't bother writing to him as I am quite sure that Zell is delighted to see anyone attack Dean and everyone else in the Democratic Party.

Bill Clinton is also listed as a Carville client, but there is no e-mail address for him through congress.org. Does anyone out there have an e-mail address for Bill Clinton? Curiously, Hillary is not listed as a Carville client, but you can send her an e-mail letter anyway through congress.org to ask whether she agrees with Carville's crap.

Which reminds me to report that web Karma is already at work against Carville. When I googled "carville.com", Google replied "Don't you mean crapville.com?" Well, yes, that does describe him quite accurately.
