For most Vietnamese, Bush visit just another day--AP
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2006/11/17/asia/AS_GEN_APEC_Bush_Cool_Reception.php

HANOI, Vietnam: Tran Van Lac poured tea Friday for 6 men...including 1 police officer who was part of the security presence waiting for U.S. President George W. Bush outside Hanoi's Sheraton hotel.

"I don't care about Bush's visit," Lac said in an alleyway parallel to the hotel, where the president's greeting party was limited to a lone flag-waving American who works for the American Chamber of Commerce.
"It doesn't do me any good. It doesn't do me any harm."

"Unlike the massive, joyous crowds that stayed up late for Clinton's unannounced midnight flight into Hanoi's international airport — a half-hour drive from downtown — Bush's late-morning arrival drew mostly the curious rather than the devoted, other than the police maintaining a security perimeter around the hotel..."

1. poor junyer....
years ago, i read that junyer was the first usa president who could be despised rightly by winos and junkies, the hopelessly debased kind. While i hate bush, it's mostly because of his pigmedia cheering section (once known as the reagan fanclub) there's a quality about bush that, even while contemptable on its face, still shouts out that he needed correction a helluva lot more then Big Dog did....and junyer's sheer meanness will gain for him little mercy (his mediawhores even less so- haven't them fukkers seen the damage they've done yet? what do they want bush to do?) george bush still represents the USA, which COULD STILL BE the great nation that guys like Woody Guthrie and Paul Robeson etc hinted at. I never in my wildest imagination thought i could ever defend george bush junyer; but it's clear he's being abandoned in increments, and like ronald reagan, junyer was largely a figurehead (reagan was once a lifeguard/male model, 3rd rate actor; junyer was a cheerleader, topgun pilot(?) builder of sandhills)...neither man was really endowed with the skills (lookit Bill - even he was no match for the pigmedia, who AT LEAST opposed him!) to steer the nation, all the while the pigmedia was yelling 'faaster, fasta, george, starboard boy, rightward! fasta, fasta, STAAAARBOARD there man!'
we should hang the whole bloody lot of them! junyer deserves that, at least
