8. I doubt that a majority of african-american Miss voters...
were for Trent Lott. there were no exit polls I know of publish from that state, but considering Barbour only got 12% of the African-American vote and Bush only got 3% of the African American vote there, I hardly think that Lott would be popular. Lott got 2/3 of Miss., but I harldy think African-Americans voted for him in that proportion.

This link mentions the voting record of African-Americans in Mississippi based on exit polls in 2002 and 2000. It is a conservative source (first link I could find).

7. Yep. Lott has many friends in the Senate.
1) Bush gave him no support during the Strom Situation.

2) Lott has been very critical of the Bush-FEMA response to Mississippi in the wake of Katrina.
