More GOP "Shoulda...Woulda...Coulda," The Special Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) Crybaby Edition

Since the Nov. 7 elections, Republicans have pinned their woes on the president. "People expect a level of performance they are not getting," former House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) said in a speech. Many were livid that Bush waited until after the elections to oust Rumsfeld.

 :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

"If Rumsfeld had been out, you bet it would have made a difference," Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) said on television. "I'd still be chairman of the Judiciary Committee."

 :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

And so, in what some saw as a rebuke, Senate Republicans restored Trent Lott (Miss.) to their leadership four years after the White House helped orchestrate his ouster, with some saying they could no longer place their faith entirely in Bush.

Some insiders said the White House invited the backlash. "Anytime anyone holds themselves up as holy, they're judged by a different standard," said David Kuo, a former deputy director of the Bush White House's faith-based initiatives who wrote "Tempting Faith," a book that accused the White House of pandering to Christian conservatives. "And at the end of the day, this was a White House that held itself up as holy."

1. Well, that "up or down" shitheel is no longer the Chair of Judiciary, and that's a blessing.
I only wish he hadn't been when Alito sleazed through....

2. If the Repukes hadn't turned a blind eye to the corruption, if they
hadn't plundered the national coffers, if they hadn't been a rubber stamp for the Torturer in Chief, they might still be in power. Now they're crying in their beer and blaming the Thief in Chief for their own moral cowardice. It really is too funny. It just warms the cockles of my heart.

3. I don't think anyone could have predicted
That systemic corruption, pandering, and self-serving would have ever come back to bite the "permanent majority" in the ass. It must therefore be someone else's fault that they lost. Boo hoo hoo! It's just too, too sad that the Republicans can't continue their oligarchical ways, and will now have to consider the needs of over half the population that disagrees with them.

Myopic motherfuckers. Retirement take 'em all.

4. THat's what you get when you
get a frat boy for pres(sic) and his evil "genius" brain..they didn't think of it until AFTER the election.

The original "DOH" boys. Who also thought of building up lies to get the USA Soldiers into Iraq for points at the poll, OIL, and to get the pnacers satisfied. And they knew the lazy incompetent corporatemediawhores would go along.
