Kerry "blunder" revisted
Does anyone have link to the original written text of that speech that Kerry flubbed?
Not a transcript but the written version of how it was suppose to be read.

I got some RW'ers I need to nail.

1. OBTW
Here is a response I gave to one of them:

---

I know it makes for great ammo but when the facts are looked at it does not stand up.

Kerry delivered that speech before and got it correct.
That time he screwed the sentence up.
The word "us" was left out based on the written version of the speech.

Funny thing is Kerry wasn't running for anything and the Republicans got their asses waxed Nov 7th. because people are fed up with W's abject failure in Iraq and the "culture of corruption" that has become the Republican Party.

Here is a real funny joke:

2. well said

but you know, of course, wasting facts on unfertile ground like you describe is probably a waste of time and seed. Maybe something will stick with enough blunt force trauma though.

7. my next response
He went off about how they are "all" corrupt.
And my response:

---

I understand your sentiment (friends name).
We will see. Let's hope things change.

If the Dems put forth legislation that helps the working poor and middle class then it will be on Bush's desk for him to veto or sign.
Also, we will now get oversight of the Executive Branch and not a rubber stamp.
The majority party controls the legislative agenda, has subpeona power, and can conduct hearings.
The Dems have not had this ability since 1994.
Times have changed.

First 100 hour plan:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/06/AR2006100600056.html

I get my political views from studying voting records, looking at funding sources of campaigns, and sharing lots of discussion online which leads to great links and information from many diverse views.

Lot's of people limit their political views to Fox News, am radio talkshows such as Limbaugh and Hannity, and the rest of the mainstream "soundbite" news. That approach is very limiting in many ways. That approach gets people riled up with slogans, soundbites, and false stereotyping.

Just because the Dems have won big does not mean that I will be happy.
My intent is to write and keep the pressure on them. We still need to hold their feet to the fire.
I am more hopeful now but I understand your frustration of "they are both just as corrupt".
While I agree to a certain extent, my study has shown that, based on Congressional voting records, that would benefit people like us, the Dems are far ahead of the Repubs. Sure, they both have corruption, I will not argue that, however the Repubs have taken it to a place not seen in our country's history with the Abramoff/Delay K Street project and the enormous war profiteering going on.

4. Apparantly it was shown on the Daily Show
Andrew Sullivan mentioned that he saw it on the show in one of his columns.

5. Both the remarks
as they were originally prepared for delivery and the actual transcript are available on the johnkerry.com website. The complete video is also available.

8. My problem is that Kerry made a mistake and
the slobs ran with it. He is honest and has served without a wisp of scandal. There is nothing in his tenure about graft, bribery, screwing around on a wife or cheating in elections. So tell me what the heck the problem is? Please do not let the repukes define the way he should be looked at. He cannot be bought and has not been bought. His wife is rich but he had a few bucks before he married her. They are a great couple. Do we want a smart, decent guy for president or a slimy crumb bum that you can sit down an have a beer with? Do you want someone smarter than you are or a dumb bastard that cannot get out of his or her won way? Think about it.

9. Remind them also that Kerry volunteered for service after graduating from Yale
So it wouldn't even make sense for him to imply that people who join the military aren't educated.
