That's serious if he gets in this race. the question is who will he take votes from.He was once a dem and now is a republican. the guy has money coming out the wi zoo. another Ross Pero that will spend millions of his own money and not win.

1. Well That is Fascinating
and it raises the question of which party he would pull more votes from. I was half-expecting a right-wing third-party candidate, but Bloomberg splits the difference. He would pull from both parties, and it would depend on the regional distribution.

What would be more fascinating if two NYC mayors were running against each other.

3. Lieberman got campaign money from NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg
so I expect Judas Joe to return the favor by supporting a Bloomberg Presidential bid.

4. And if Hillary is going to run too?
This could be the Subway Series of Presidential races!

5. More Serious Than Most Know
Because there's funny business going on with this. There was a news item in September (?) about a secret (meaning it wasn't supposed to get out but it did) meeting in New York between Al From (head of DLC) with Bloomberg, the purpose of which was From's urging Bloomberg to run as an indie. What struck me at the time was that here is a guy who supposedly supports the dems (laughable) urging a republican to run as an indie with his support. Is this another Lieberman type move? What are these guys up to? And, where does that leave DLC insiders like Hil Clinton?

6. Indeed. It's an interesting constellation of agendas....
... and alliances.

Bloomberg has more money than the FED, and spreads it around NYC buying political support and laughably fawning media coverage. ( I've seen about 8 stories in the Times this year about Bloomberg 'denying' that he was a candidate for president in 2008. I've yet to encounter a single human being who would have thought of Bloomberg as a presidential candidate. I believe this is known in the biz as 'creating a buzz'.)

He's also forged a host of cozy arrangements with a host of DEM biggies and ex-Dem biggies like Lieberzilch. Senator Schumer's wife, Iris Weinshall, for instance, is a high level political appointee in Bloomie's GOP city administration.

Yes, that's *Schumer*... as in the chairman of DSCC. The guy who was supposed to be helping the DEM senatorial nominee in CT.... the nominee that Bloomie was sending NYC employees to CT to help to defeat.

8. Lieberzilch
Good one! It would benefit progressives to try and figure out what these guys are up to 'cause you can bet it certain;y isn't being done with our best interests in mind. Is From et all deliberately trying to fracture/marginalize the dem party? Or is it because the DLC is in fact losing its influence that he's looking for a new power base by creating a third party. I am also mindful of the DLC's advocacy of a third way aka one world government. Does From see this move as a beginning to implementing one party rule in this country?

7. Great! Another media empire owner!
He barely eeked a re-election as mayor with the lowest turnout in NYC history and 70 million spending and the papers screamed "landslide" while scorning Corzine for his (much lower) expenditures. If you think you saw media bias until now, hold on to your hats!
