1. Santorum sure didn't get his money's worth out of that election
And don't forget his cronies also invested about $200k in the Green Candidate Carl Romanelli.

I think Bob Casey realized that he was going to win this race for simply not being Rick Santorum. And when Santorum's negative ads started to actully be a negative against himself and not Bob Casey, Casey realized that he just needs to keep his mouth shut and not say anything stupid to cost him the race. If anything, Casey could have spent about half the money he spent and STILL have beat Rick Santorum

10. Pennsylvanian's can't be bought.
You are right about Bob winning simply by not being Rick Santorum. Bob is a good man, and I voted for him, however he does have republican Stances.
He opposes abortion,(I am not for abotion, however I beleive it needs to be rare safe and legal). He opposes stemcell research( I find this very upsetting, because the cells just get thrown away). He is against gun control(This I just can't understand). Even with all this I had to conclude he was better for Pennsylvania then Rick Santorum, who voted against us every chance he got.

2. Is the Pryce/Kilroy race still undecided?
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 01:25 PM by madfloridian
The NYT page had a caveat that I need to post. It may not be decided yet.

From the Times page:

Correction: Nov. 16, 2006
"A chart on Tuesday about the 10 most expensive Senate and House races referred incorrectly to the contest between Representative Deborah Pryce, Republican of Ohio, and her Democratic opponent, Mary Jo Kilroy. The race is still in dispute; Ms. Pryce has not been officially declared the winner."

3. Yikes! Hillary spent a lot on an almost uncontested race
in a Dem dominated state.

8. Thanks, do I qualify as a "Hillary-hater" because I posted this chart.
which I had not seen till today?

I hate that term. I don't hate anyone. I love everyone. Could you tell us which races she helped out? That's great that she did.

BTW I am not a "Hillary=Hater"

11. .
I don't know whether she gave money to a specific candidate, but she gave some millions to some Dem committees who surely used that money in some races.
It was also said that she spent it on get out the vote efforts which I think helped many Dem candidates in NY.

NY must be a really expensive market, still I agree that 35+ millions looks too much.

15. No, but a search would have revealed its prior posting.
Edited on Sun Nov-19-06 02:03 PM by onehandle
I always assume that a six day old story from a major news source has already been posted. DUers are pretty thorough.

I said that because the Hillary haters arrive quickly, and of course they did. Just because you hate that term doesn't mean they don't exist. I wasn't calling you one. I figured you didn't realize that it had already been posted several times over the last week.

16. No, I have not been reading those posts.
I was too busy trying to keep up with the attacks on us by Carville.

If you wish, do a search on my posts.

I don't usually go around putting others down when they post something that was already posted. It happens dozens of times a day around here.

It is the first time I saw the chart, and I found it interesting.

12. This might come back to bite her.
She might end up having to raise all of her own money to run for President.

14. .
Too bad that many don't know that she did.
As did other Dems who were accused of sitting on their millions while they were working hard in support of other campaigns.
