A loophole free draft can never exist

Anyone who thinks that the Democrats can create a draft that forces everyone to risk being drafted needs to reconsider it.

A draft would be conducted by thousands of local draft boards. Don't think that Richy McRepublican isn't buddies with the draft board guy and can't pay him off to get Johnny McRepublican exempted.

It's called corruption and it's everywhere, especially in large, sprawling organizations. And what is Charlie Rangel going to do? He can't keep track of all these guys.

And don't think it's going to stop wars. Guess who is REALLY friends with the draft board guy, Members of Congress. They can still vote for the war to get themselves re-elected, and their kids won't go.

Further, having the draft didn't stop the Vietnam War. It took 8 years of having a draft before it ended. People are sick of Iraq after 3 years and there wasn't even a draft at all.

The only thing a draft leads to is unnecessary deaths and gives government an excuse to screw our troops over even more - because they have to fight, whether they are treated well or not.

let's raise political consciousness and there'll be no need of a draft to stop useless wars -- we'll do it ourselves.
