Bush shrugs off Indonesian protests: "That’s what happens when you make hard decisions"
Amid loud protests, Bush praises Indonesia
President, on brief visit, hails protestors being able to 'say what they think'

BOGOR, Indonesia - President Bush’s unpopularity here in the world’s most populous Muslim nation made intense security jitters and angry protests the hallmarks of a six-hour trip to court Indonesian favor. At a joint news conference with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Bush shrugged off the demonstrations, saying it was a sign of a healthy democracy.

“I applaud a society where people are free to express their opinion,” Bush said of the protests that accompanied his visit to the world’s most populous Muslim nation.

Through sheets of sometimes heavy rain, Bush flew by helicopter from the capital of Jakarta to the presidential palace in a lush hilltop suburb for talks with the Indonesian leader.

“It’s to Indonesia’s credit that it’s a society where people are able to protest and say what they think,” Bush said. He noted that it wasn’t the first time he had drawn protests. “That’s what happens when you make hard decisions,” Bush said.

2. "That’s what happens when you make hard decisions"
Umm, that would be "twisted, meglamaniacal decisions."
What a fucking asshole. All that we can do is keep apologizing to the rest of the world for this troglodyte.

4. Well I am sure he will not get hurt. He travels so fast.
From 2 to 4 on Monday he does Indonesian. I read he had the Rivers shut down in Germany when he was there. I bet all the people hate to see him come. Clinton could not wait to meet the people. Think maybe Bush sees the whole thing in a different light.

5. I guess that's why intellectually curious veterans hate his guts
because he made the hard decision to desert his military unit so he could snort cocaine without fear of a drug test.

8. I am so damn tired of him telling everyone how "hard" everything is.
If he's finding everything he does to be so "hard", then maybe he should get a clue and realize that maybe he isn't cut out for the job. Everyone knows being president of ANY country is "hard". It's a job with responsibilities and serious consequences for bad decisions. But the fact that he feels like he has to tell us, every time he speaks publicly, how "hard" his job is, makes him sound like a weak, petulant child who is looking for excuses for his failures.
