"The war on terraism" is, after all, an "unconventional war" against an "unconventional enemy."

So we need fresh thinking--the kind of brilliant minds that have never faced a "traditional" enemy. The kind of minds that are "legacied" into our finest institutions of higher learning. The kind of minds not tainted by the experiences of their veteran fathers. That's so 20th century. It's a new war now.

I suggest we begin by classifying Ivy League seniors and grad students under the age of 28 as 1-A.

I take no sides on the draft issue here; I see both sides of the issue and I do think it's a debate long overdue. I might add that I have a young son, too, so yes, I'm concerned.
