How are we going to pay for a draft? Halliburton, and company, already have the loot.

We just get control of the House and Senate. We just get hope and Rangel wants to kill it with a draft proposal?
The party that pushes the draft will be the party that never wins another election.

4. One more time for the politically unschooled |

here: Charlie Rangel is using the draft as a rhetorical device to showcase the hypocricy of the repukes and other pro-war types, and to start a national conversation. He knows what he's doing. He is staunchly anti-Iraq war or attacking Iran.

Rangel is leaving us WIDE OPEN to be tagged as pro-draft. If Rangel is anti-war, he should be working to cut-off military funding and get the troops home. This is incredibly stupid.

And where have you been? Charlie's been talking about this, and explaining it for 3 years. You have no idea what you're talking about.

8. There's no need for idiotic rhetoric that can blow up in our faces |
|
What's Rangel doing to do THIS time if it's actually brought up for a vote? Run and hide again?
We're in charge come January. Stop funding the war and it's over. What is so difficult about that to comprehend?

Don't you realize that Rangel has enough "NO" votes to kill this if it ever got to the floor for a vote? This was brought up to have the debate.
I don't agree with stopping funding. You harm the troops doing that. If you don't want new troops in harm's way you shouldn't want the older troops to suffer either.
This is not the only conflict that can happen in our lifetime. There could be another conflict that would require another large number of troops. What are you going to do if that happens?

10. You are right the pukes have used his draft efforts against Dems in past elections |
|
What party has called for the draft to be re-instated? Forget nuance or intent or national dialog, the voter will only remember, with the pukes help, that the Democratic Party tried to re-instate the draft? Besides the fact that it will not pass, it is only a distraction from focusing on issues that could actually be addressed with meaningful legislation that would make a difference with the working class's everyday life. This election cycle is turning into a tragic lost opportunity because of a lack of discipline by the Democratic congressional leadership. Arrogance in leadership or positions of power is what the public hated about the pukes and now the Democratic ruling class can't handle the responsibility of using power effectively to help accomplish a better life for the working class. I have about given up all hope or interest in our political system, it is ignorant of and out of touch with reality. I need to forget about the whole process since obviously nobody gives a shit about the average American trying to survive in our corporate controlled society.
