Will Cheney make a public statement supporting a draft and
try to force * to go along or resign. I think this is how it will play out over the next 6 weeks. Also, everyone hoping to run in 08 better be ready to answer this question and not try "I was against a draft before I was for nation service".

They better think long and hard before making a statement, because IMO a draft will be required long before 08.

1. If they asked Cheney to make a statement on the draft ...
... he'd ask for a deferment.

5. No way Cheney or anyone else will come out in support of the draft.
It would be political suicide. Rangel can come out for it on principal and not really have anything to lose.

6. Cheney has nothing to lose. With his man Runny out of the way,
he knows he cannot let the Baker gang get between him and *. So his choice is go quietly (not his style) or take on the chimp for all the marbles.
