It's 2 weeks later and I still can't believe we knocked off Felix...
I think back six months ago and how I felt the election might go. I wasn't sold on Webb at first, some of the comments he made regarding John Kerry and others. I almost voted for Harris Miller in the primary. I ended up voting for Webb because I thought he would have the better chance to bloody Felix up before his inevitable Presidential run. I didn't seriously think we could knock him off.

Well I was wrong on both issues. Webb turned out to be an excellent choice and my respect for him only grew, until I now think of all the states that elected new Senators this year, we have sent the one with by far the most potential.

And boy was I wrong about knocking Felix out. I have never been so happy to be so wrong!!!

4. That makes 2 of us! Actually, comments on DU swayed me to Webb for the primary.
Everyone here sure was right. I'm so proud of Webb and think he'll be a top notch Senator.

6. I still have a Webb for Senate flyer on my desk...could not part with it...
you are correct, when I got it I thought he would do well, but not beat Allen...I was NEVER happier...me and the mailman at the office continued to cheer on Webb and we both gave each other high fives after Allen conceded...AMAZING victory and well deserved!

9. I have two shirts, one with a little tribute emblem
printed over my heart to his son in Iraq. The other his Born Fighting, which they stopped printing because people were concerned it was too "violent". :D

We did it gang ! And I mean nationally! I'll never forget Allen's campaign pointing out in a local tv ad that Webb was being supported by donations from a "radical lefty blog" aka Daily Kos ! Too funny!!

8.  The only type of candidate that could have beat Felix was
one who would not run from a fight. Webb personifies the temperament that winning Democrats will have to possess to beat the RW. No matter where particular Democrats fall on the ideological spectrum, they can expect lies, vilification, ridicule and worse from their Republican opponents. We need candidates who will not shrink from battle but rather return fire aggressively when attacked. Webb's campaign is a prime example of how to deal with the anti-democratic forces that have captured the Republican party.

10. Too bad Virginia
lost out on having a Presidential candidate, but wait a minute.......how about Webb/Obama 2008? I suppose I am rushing things a tad, but I like the sound of it.
