I LOVE YOU LAWRENCE O'DONNELL!! Kick some more chickenhawk ass!!!!
Lawrence O'Donnell on Scarborough, and he's just seriously kicked the SHIT out of Scarborough's chickenhawk rear end!! I was cheering!! He also levelled some repuke shill named Holt.

They were talking about Rangel's message, and O'Donnell said it was that the power elites didn't have to worry about THEIR sons/daughters dying in Iraq, and that is the problem. Scarborough said some bullshit to the effect of "Hey! *I* know people in Afghanistan!"

Well, give the boy a MEDAL! He frikkin' "knows" someone who's gone to Afghanistan or Iraq! If he had to mingle with us peons, he'd know LOTS of people who "know" someone who's in Afghanistan or Iraq. What a loser Scarborough is. Couldn't even hold onto a congressional seat in an era and state where his party was stealing them right and left. (He was apparently terrified that his wife, who'd just kicked his ass to the curb, was gonna tell something about him... heh.)

To cap off the beauty of the whole thing, O'Donnell said straight out that the BUSH DAUGHTERS and the CHENEY DAUGHTERS should go to Iraq. Hear, hear!!!! (Personally, I'd send THEM and their WHOLE FAMILIES, but that's just me...)

2. OUTSTANDING.....He finally said what most Americans were
thinking....The Chickenhawks that want to continue with this Iraq Fiasco have no skin in the game...

I liked that he said that he didn't have the guts to go into the military....honesty is refreshing isn't it?

7. And Scarborough was the REAL gutless wonder in that group!
Scarborough didn't even have the guts to continue in Congress--the ultimate cushy club for the pampered rich.

That's right: it was a bunch of people who had never served, talking about whether or not people who are serving should stay and maybe die, or be brought home so they can be safe for a change--like the chickenhawks who put them there. Refreshing, yes!

they have sent to the senseless war.

Rangel is no bodies fool, he wants to see how serious they are about winning and mission and NOT accoplished.

I know one thing, goclark would move to Canada or someplace before any child of mine had to fight for Bush.

3. Some asswipe on Chris Matthews show yesterday said...
...something similar to Scarborough, but worse. Dude said plenty of congressmen have family in the service (notice, he didn't say in IRAQ). He then went on to name Fred Senator who has a son in the guard, stationed in North Carolina, and another congressman who has a son who is in San Diego or something. WOO HOO! Feel their pain! It must be so hard on their families, knowing at any moment they might have to pick up the phone and call in a favor!

5. 'Asswipe', that's an elegant term. I'd say the guy's a coward and hypocrite. nt

6. Point taken, but please try to understand:
I have a reasonable vocabulary, and I'm positive that that poster, Atman, does too.

One can say "coward" or "hypocrite", sure, but listen, my anger long, long, long ago went SO FAR past the use of such words, that "asswipe" doesn't even BEGIN to express my sentiments towards these people who are EVEN NOW (from the safety of their living rooms) insisting that our young American troops continue to put their lives in danger for a lost cause.

It makes me want to cuss them out! Even the ones who were friends of mine! Considering what some of these CHICKENHAWK SCUM say on these shows, I'd say "asswipe" was not nearly a strong enough term for them!

9. Thank you.
Yeah, "asswipe" isn't part of my normal vocabulary, but this crap has got me so pissed off. I posted a thread earlier about Rangel's proposal; I have two draft-age sons (18 and 21), so I have a LOT to lose here, unlike these...these...ASSWIPES. But still, I support what Rangel is saying and doing PRECISELY because it is starting this much-needed debate, and exposing the hypocrites for who they really are.

12. I'm really angry too. And, yes, I support what Rangel is doing too. He's ...
put the issue on the table.

I'm a volunteer at Bethesda Naval Hospital and a regular platelet donor at Walter Reed. So, I've seen the guys being held together with scotch tape or have taken a bullet to the face. I'm really, r e a l l y angry.

16. I hear you. Rangel will NOT be causing your sons to be drafted, and here's why:
(BTW, I also have two sons, one draft-age and one getting there fast.)
Shortly before the election, I was up for some reason at about 5:30 a.m. I turned on the TV to the history channel. There was a half-hour show just beginning. (Half-hour shows are rare on the history channel.) It was called something like, "A History of the Draft". The host said first they'd talk to a professor who'd studied the draft throughout history, and then they'd hear from Rep. Rangel. I knew what Rangel had previously done on this, so I watched.

The professor went through the history of the draft, including draft riots, etc.

Then Rangel came on and the host said, "So... you are proposing legislation to re-start the draft."

I had figured out that Rangel's draft bill was really a political statement, not something he actually wanted, but I expected Rangel to "play along" with a straight face and call for a draft, because I figured his whole plan to raise consciousness would be served by his "playing along".

But Rangel did not "play along"--he came right out and said exactly what he intended. He said, essentially, that his draft bill was a ploy.

Rangel got up there and said he'd proposed it because he wanted to see what would happen if the elites were faced with having their precious children HAVE TO put on uniforms and go off to fight. He predicted that the elites would put a stop to this warmongering very quickly if their own children had to sign up.

The professor said he understood Rangel's point, but then he said that "with a president who's a madman" (or something to that effect), and he (the professor) having 2 draft-age sons, he didn't want to experiment with calling Bush/Cheney's bluff, b/c it might backfire. Charlie replied, "Don't worry, because before the bill were ever to get anywhere, it must first be debated--and I intend for the debate to end the war(s)."

11. I understand completely...
Edited on Mon Nov-20-06 09:51 PM by MookieWilson
my first instincts are to call him an ignorant, selfish fuckhead. And I might think, 'cowardly, right-wing cocksucker'.

Bunch of candyasses, the whole lot of 'em.

But, since this forum is public, I'll limit myself to hypocritical coward.
