Sam "Fruits" Brownback eyes presidential bid
SUMMARY: The Kansas GOP senator who defended the term "fruits" as not a gay slur says he'll make a final decision next month on a White House run.

U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, who is considering a White House bid in 2008, said Monday the Republican field has room for a "full-scale
Ronald Reagan conservative" and pledged to make a final decision next month.

The Kansas senator said he was not discouraged from running by the Democrats' strong gains in this month's midterm elections, including majority control of the House and Senate.

"It does not make it less likely," he told the Associated Press. "I really believe that the basic conservative ideas and ideals were not repudiated. Our execution was."

1. Oh God, I hope he's the GOP candidate.
The Democratic Party will defeat him easily.

2. Hah! I love this
It would be beautiful for Republicans to torpedo their own ship by nominating this weirdo as their candidate. Unfortunately, the Republican kingmakers might try to run someone more credible against him. Too bad; I could see a campaign slogan for Brownback: Sink with Sam in 08'!

3. great news, lets hope he runs
while he will be popular among the nutcases , it's still rare for people like him to win. look at Gary Bauer , Pat Robertson etc. also he has adopted some non white kids so the racists wont like that.

but it's always good when Americans get to see the Republican Party represented by people like him.
