1. He won't even get close to the nomination.
Why would *anybody* say he could win if he were nominated when there's no way the guy gets the nomination.

A whole lotta stuff can happen in a year--especially *this* upcoming year.

Nobody who is a perceived front-runner for 2008 at this time (Dem, Repug, or otherwise) is going to be a front-runner next year at this time. Just like CW in 2003, it's all going to be different than what *everybody* is predicting. It's just too damned long between now and the primaries.

4. Yes! Relax. Have a glass of wine. Read a good novel, or two...
24/7 campaign mode sucks. The media wants us to start campaigning for 2008. Fuck 'em. I want to go hiking in the woods. I want to gaze at the stars.

Most importantly, I want to sit back and watch my Democrats make utter worms meat of these Repuke assholes. I've been fighting for this for years; giving far more than any normal human being should have to give. I'm taking a year off. It's their turn to work for *me*.

Yeah! Yeah! I know... Longship, you won't be able to stay away. Probably correct. But I'll bet I get more than a few non-political books read. ;-)

2. If the mainstream media had their way, yes.
Just the thought of seeing McCain get in the white house makes me want to scoop my eyeballs out with a dirty spoon.
