Americans prefer Bush I to Bush II
It appears the only man capable of making the first President Bush look like a better leader is his incompetent son. From CNN:
Only one in four Americans believe President Bush is a better president than his father, George H. W. Bush, a new CNN poll has found.

Six in 10 said the elder Bush, who served one term from 1989-1993, did a better job in office, according to a poll conducted by Opinion Research Corporation. Twelve percent said both were equally good or bad, and 2 percent offered no opinion.

5. To paraphrase a couple of individuals:
GW Bush makes his father look like a self made man. Larry Flynt

I remember asking why GHW Bush didn't go all the way into Baghdad to take out Saddam during the first Gulf War. Now that I see this clusterf*ck his son has gotten us into, I now understand why.

10. I can't believe we are wasting time on this...
Who the **** cares? We have problems in this country...BIG problems...and for CNN to dwell on this "BushI/BushII" bullshit is absolutely ridiculous!!!

I suppose now that the torture debate has ended (for now), CNN has to devote it's resources to something...

11. I find this to be very troubling
its a sign that Bush is no longer being associated with conservatism or Republicanism.

I hear shit all the time, even here, about how much better poppy was, how he was more of a "true conservatve" (whatever the fuck that is).

And from the right, I hear that Bush II is worse because he isn't as conservative, and is too liberal...

So what we have here is an effort by the media to cast a nostalgic view on conservatism, and distance Bush's failures from conservatism in practice
