Savage blames Kramer's outburst on liberals
Michael Savage, no stranger to saying things that, if uttered by liberals, would brand them fringe extremists, is back. This time, here's Savage speaking about the recent outburst by Michael "Kramer" Richards:
You're listening to the character Kramer from Seinfeld in a tirade at a comedy club Friday night that set off a shockwave across America. This is not a Mel Gibson situation . It's - I don't think he can use Mel's defense that it was the liquor talking. This is, to me, from the gut.

This is an interesting story, but this is what the subtext of liberalism really is. Under the surface, if you got them in a room alone, I guarantee you they'd say the same kind of hateful things about Catholics and about Jews and about straights and about soldiers.

Kerry gave us a smaller version of it, by the way. Kerry did it in an albeit high-class way, but John Kerry did the same thing, in my opinion.
"Savage Nation"? Try "Idiot Nation".

4. The thing I am still confused about tho....
is why is it OK (in some places, I suppose) for blacks to use the 'n' word - in comedy, in epithets toward one another, etc. If it is a bad thing (and no one doubts that it is), why is it OK for anyone. I am gay and my mother was Jewish, so can I use the words fag and kike with impunity? I'm just asking.

6. I understand why it might not make any sense to you
But the n-word's power comes from the intent, not the word itself.

The word has so much history of horror when coming from a White person toward a Black person that perhaps it's stamped on our DNA now and evokes a visceral reaction that is not provoked when used by Black people.

I am a Black woman who has lived my whole life around Black people who use the word frequently, almost like a nickname or a pronoun. I don't like it when Black folks use it, but it kind of rolls off my back, since I'm used to it and it's really meaningless in such context. But whenever I hear a White person use it, I literally get sick to my stomach, my heart races and the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. I immediately get frightened and feel threatened and vulnerable.

It's all about the intent and, frankly, there is absolutely no innocent reason for a White person to call a Black person by that name - it always implies hostility and is generally used to inflict pain and a fear. It's purpose is to degrade.

It's really hard to explain and it might seem totally illogical to you, but that's the reality of it.

8. No, I understand your post and I appreciate it as well...
I just always thought that it was a shame when black comedians used it as it just seemed to validate it in some way. I just LOVE Dave Chappel, but he uses this word way too often IMHO. There is a subtle difference with him sometimes when it seems that he uses it to shame others for their use of it. But I do understand when you say that it is different when black people use it with one another. I have friends that call each other fag, and while it does bother me, it would be different if used in the street at a stranger. Thanks for your reply. Happy Thanksgiving.

5. Just substitute the word "conservatism" for the word "liberalism"
and it hits the nail on the head. Savage-Weiner, like most conservatives, is a master of projection.

Edited on Wed Nov-22-06 10:13 PM by noahmijo
My point with that is this-nothin against hippies you people never bothered me, but what does bother me is you got this clown who himself used to smoke dope who himself aligned himself once with communists and hippies and now he's gonna lecture me about morals and the like-but HE is the guy who took part in that type of what he calls devians I should say lifestyle yet I'M the deviant because I refuse to bow to neo-con crooks?!

It's just like the phony preachers who knock up 14 year olds and have rushed their wives outta country to have their 5th abortion-but they're gonna teach YOU how to moral.

Phony ass loser punks the lot of em.
