In a move that's sure to rock the local radio airwaves, WGST radio cleaned house and dropped several of its long-time talk-show hosts on Tuesday.
Tom Hughes, Denny Schaeffer, and a staple of the afternoon drive-time, Kim Peterson, or as he's known to his legion of fans: "The Kimmer."

The next morning, Kimmer went back to work at 11 a.m. as usual, to finish his prep work for the show. That’s when he learned he was being let go, along with talk-show colleagues Tom Hughes and Denny Schaeffer.
Management says the move was necessitated by the station’s low ratings. For the time being, syndicated programming will fill the local slots. Like anyone who's just been downsized, Kimmer says, he'll take some time off to consider his options. And to count his blessings.
